I didn’t have League Pass until the last month of last season, so finally gonna have it to start the season!
I’m cautiously optimistic.

Somehow, Keegan has scored 22 points despite a 17-14 score.
He’s efficient
Not sure why we’re subbing out our two best guys so far.
Two careless turnovers after the subs came in too.
I can see the emphasis on physicality and gang rebounding
defense playing solid early on. Rebounding is an issue, which isn’t surprising considering Utah’s size vs the Kings.
We’ve lost some long offensive rebounds and some 50/50 balls. Perhaps it’s just standard deviation.
Glad to see Barnes off to a good start.

Sasha has looked good! Hitting shots, crashing boards, and playing smart team defense even if he’s not a gifted 1v1 defender.
It’s hard to judge the defense, because the Kings outclass the Jazz, but in any case it’s looking pretty good so far.
About as good of a first quarter of basketball as could’ve been asked for
Barnes is living proof that the preseason doesn’t mean squat.
Looking like same applies with Vezenkov. He looks a lot better this game than he did in any minute he played during preseason

If last season was any indication, then I’m guessing that pretty soon we’ll be seeing a lineup of Fox with four bench guys.

So… Long, long time lurker here (from back in the ziller days of the old site). Planning to be more engaged this season, but had you told me Harrison Barnes would be starting the season like this and outperforming everyone else… I’d have thought something had gone drastically wrong. Definitely not on my bingo card today.

He’s having a pretty awful game all around. Let Monk, Duarte or Mitchell finish the game at SG
I don’t think it’s entirely his fault. I think the emphasis on physical defense is taking the lift out of his legs on offense. But even though he’s trying hard on defense, he’s simply not a good defensive player. So he’s sacrificing his offense for essentially nothing. It doesn’t help his shot is just not falling, either. Under normal circumstances it’s just a slump he could work through, but he’s got a microscope on him rn. That creates a psychological effect, and suddenly he’s getting beat on D, shots aren’t falling, confidence drops, rinse and repeat. Something’s gotta break the cycle. Maybe getting benched might take the heat off so he can sort it out.

Utah getting overly physical by design to slow the pace. The reviews, as you say also grinding play to a dead stop.
so in the end it’s an unsuccessful but successful challenge since they gave Lauri a tech after the fact and the Kings got an extra point out of it. Lol

Won’t be starting 0-4 this season. Nice solid win. I’d give Huerter one more start. If he can’t turn it around give Duarte the start. Barnes was unconscious tonight. May end up his best game this season. Can’t afford our 2 guard to put up measly numbers. As a group they did great.
