Update: 10 p.m.
The losing streak is now at 2 after that 4-game win streak. The Miami Heat defeated the Sacramento Kings 130-117 Tuesday night at Golden 1 Center.
Miami had 33 assists and only 10 turnovers. The Kings had 16 turnovers, which resulted in 19 points for the Heat. The Kings did win points in the paint 62-46, but only shot 37% from three compared to 50% from three for the Heat, who led nearly the whole game.
Domantas Sabonis once again did not start and played a team-low 17 minutes. He finished with 6 points, 10 rebounds and 3 assists. He apparently has not been a minutes restriction. Dylan Cardwell played 21 minutes and had 12 rebounds, 4 points, 2 blocks, 1 steal, 1 assist and 5 fouls. Maxime Raynaud played 18 minutes and had 7 points, 8 rebounds and 2 steals. Interesting big situation going on, but it helps fuel the tank.
DeMar DeRozan finished with a team-high 23 points. Zach LaVine was an efficient 7-10 from the floor for 18 points, but only played 18 minutes.
Sacramento is 12-32 and in 14th place in the Western Conference.
From Earlier Preview:
The Kings had their 4-game winning streak snapped by the Portland Trail Blazers on Sunday night. Will Sacramento get back on track tonight? Hopefully not! Let’s get into it.
Who: Sacramento Kings (12-31) vs. Miami Heat (22-21)
Where: Golden 1 Center, Sacramento, CA
When: 7:00 PM PT / 10:00 PM ET
Watch: NBCSCA / League Pass
Something I’ve asked myself more times this season than I ever could have predicted: Is Dylan Cardwell my favorite player on this team? I’m still searching for the answer, but he’s up there. While Maxime Raynaud and Domantas Sabonis struggled against Portland on Sunday, Cardwell actually led all Kings centers in minutes, and looked pretty good doing it. He’s such a different type of player than what the Kings have had in the center spot, and it’s refreshing.
What does that have to do with tonights game against the Miami Heat? I don’t know. We’re running out of interesting things to hash out here. I can attempt to tie it all together: what is Doug Christie’s solution at center?
Domantas Sabonis hasn’t started since he returned to the lineup two games ago. At some point, Christie is going to pull the trigger and place him back in the starting unit, right? And then who heads to the bench? And who doesn’t play at all? If Cardwell is the casualty, he will be missed.
Prediction: Kings 115, Heat 108.

In Miami we managed to win;
Now our tank just came out of its spin.
Against Scott we’ve inveighed,
Yet no word of a trade.
Vivek’s presence here has worn thin!
+1 Another Precious revenge game?
Perry hasn’t done anything yet because he’s still trying to figure out how to get Kuminga while keeping the mercenary vets.
Davion to give Keon a preview of like after Kangz.
They were both seen having a lengthy discussion after the game. I can only imagine what they were talking about.
Let’s roll (the tank)!!
DeRozan, LaVine, and Westbrook jacking shots. Real fun to watch.
Stealth stealth stealth for one of the 3 Kings

This is garbage. The Kings are moving quickly away from the recent good play like it’s going out of fashion. Stupid selfish vets playing hero ball.
What a weak technical foul.
Meanwhile, the Dubs lost to the Raptors 145 – 127. Kuminga played 21 minutes, scoring 20 points on 7 for 10 shooting.
So it’s now Keon’s turn for the healthy scratch? Have we already seen Keon’s last game as a King?
For Keon’s sake, I hope he is traded to a team that will utilize his skill set in a better way. The Kings have not embraced his play style, imo, and I hope he gets a shot at showing what he can do.
And the worst thing is that his play style fits with EVERY modern style of basketball lol…legit 3nD guard fits everywhere but vet iso ball lol
Serious question. Is there any other team at the bottom of the league who’s not playing a healthy lottery pick from a year or two ago? You’d think a team in basically last place would play a guy like Devin Carter. I hope this shit changes after the trade deadline. And by shit I mean so many minutes and shots for the old vets.
Indiana? But they are unique because of the Haliburton injury. But everyone else seems to have a young guy they are playing.
Tanks for getting us back off track!
Nice mention of the rookie bigs in a Ringer Rookie article
If I’m Perry I call up Mike and offer LaVine, Keon, and Precious for Butler, 2026 first and 2028 first. That gives the Dubs a three level scorer to replace Butler and the large contract place holder they can use later in LaVine. They get Keon, who they can choose to extend, and size in Precious that allows them to remain competitive. This bails out the Dubs quite a bit as Butler’s deal would be a noose around their neck next season.
Kings tank hard the rest of the season, start Maxi next to Sabonis, start Nique at the 2 and reap the rewards to two additional first round pick.
What the heck is wrong with this coaching staff? When your All NBA center coming back from injury says he ready to go and they’re no minute restriction it’s a disservice to his teammates and the fans not to play him as many minutes as he can stand.
My guess: They are being extra cautious with Domas and don’t want him to get re-injured before the deadline.
They would be crazy to trade him. Domas is a warrior and part of the solution. The moves this season from not playing Keon, then Monk, now Domas as well as not playing the former 1st round pick are puzzling.
I can see how Domas could be difficult to build around with regards to spacing and defense. We saw it work for a season or two, so it can be done. Maybe Perry wants a different type of Center? Or Doug is looking at a different play style?
I like watching Domas play. He is tough as nails and busts his ass.
I love Domas, but if the rebuild is 3-5 years as Perry has mentioned, he’ll be 33-35 when we are just starting to compete.
I think it’s better for the rebuild to sell on him now and it’s also better to not make him waste the end of his prime in a rebuilding situation.
I tend to agree. Just look at how Utah sold high on Mitchell and Gobert. Ainge realized he won’t be a contender with those two together so it was best to cash in the chips.
