So do I. It’s Grizz slanted from a broadcast standpoint, but it doesn’t bother me much. Kayte is too much for me most of the time. I don’t mind the opposing broadcasts much over having to listen to her alot of the time.
Grizzlies with 14 of their 28 points in the paint already. This team won’t truly take that next step until they can find a way to add a rim protector to this roster
He’s trying to be what we need. The problem is…he just isn’t.
On the other hand, before the season started, did anyone really think that we were one player away from being a 50 win team? It certainly feels like it at this point. Question is, how do we find a rim protector without affecting the chemistry of this group?
Really hope Monte can work a trade at some point to get an upgrade at the backup 5 spot. Holmes SHOULD be that guy but he just doesn’t look like a good fit with this offense
With a couple tweaks, this Grizzlies roster may have the defensive potential of last year’s Celtics squad. So much interchangeable length, strength, and commitment on that end. This is an incredibly well constructed team.
Kings look overmatched physically/athletically, yet they’re tied. Been a running theme of the season – staying in games when they’re not playing their best.
Foxe’s shooting continues to blow me away. Last year I always felt when he shot and it went in it was a lucky shot. He’s shooting more from the right side and that short mid range bunny just looks like money every time he shoots
He’s altered the arc slightly, too. One of the things that drove me nuts about his shot from Year 1 was how flat it was. That’s almost completely gone from his game at this point.
De’Aaron Fox last year would’ve driven that ball 100 mph to the basket thru contact and hoped for a foul.
This year’s Fox slows down the pace, runs the 3-1 break with the team, keeps his head up looking to pass until the last second when Adams is forced to choose a man, and he coolly knocks down the open 10 footer. That’s IQ.
I still think the Grizz are slightly better (or at least, more complete), but they played a terrible second quarter. After Mike Brown’s timeout 90 seconds in, that might have been the best non-last 3 minutes of the 4th quarter defense that the Kings have played all season.
And that’s where defense is going to matter for this team. They’re a player (maybe 2) away from being squarely in the top third of the Western Conference, but they can make up much of that deficit against more talented teams with staunch, consistent defense.
I’ll feel like that’s what we’ve seen tonight in the first half.
That was the first time in the game and a half that they’ve played each other this season that the Kings held them to fewer than 30 pts in a quarter and the first time they scored more than 30 in a quarter against them.
As a huge Murray fan I think it might be good for him to come if bench again until he get swagger back… he is 4th option and think he is stressing to much about missing vs just playing.. if he was 1st it 2nd option he knows he will be ok if he misses… not worried long term about him at all
My theory is that their Jerseys are gonna be worn by younger fans and in the snow, ice, fog and rain they thought if they went with roadworker colors there would be less chance of the kids being hit by a car as they jaywalked……or something
Barnes just knows when it’s time to drive to the bucket and get a foul. It settles the team down, gets them a good scoring opportunity, and sucks the air out of the arena.
Swipa—> Ja
Let’s Go Kings
They really feel amazingly equal at this point, which is truly a testament to the jump Fox has made this season
Ja is playing and that’s ok..makes us even more legit
why Is bane out
Broken toe I think
Sprained toe.
Details, details.
Indubitably. They are boring no doubt.
Attack Ja early and test that ankle
Heurter
Not shooting so hot so far
Where’s the time out
Where’s the defense?
Their defense is their offense. Hope their shooting settles in and they can weather the storm until then
Refs giving early Thanksgiving Day gifts to Ja.
Well they’re creating good looks pretty routinely, just not hitting them so far
Grizzlies letting the Kings shoot and so far it’s been a good strategy
Rough start for Barnes
and now he’s finishing the quarter strong
Come on Barnes!
Well played by HB
So far looks like a good game between two playoff-caliber teams
Adams checks out, feed sabonis
Kayte sounds sick…not that it’s slowing her down much. ????
I have the Grizzlies feed, they were too much so its on mute now
So do I. It’s Grizz slanted from a broadcast standpoint, but it doesn’t bother me much. Kayte is too much for me most of the time. I don’t mind the opposing broadcasts much over having to listen to her alot of the time.
I usually have the sound low anyway. The arena atmosphere and music bugs me.
I hear that.
NBA arenas are living proof that extroverts run the world …or at least the US.
Yeah her voice sounds a bit raspy
Whenever she slows down Kyle is all too happy to keep the flow going……nonstop
Credit to everyone who knew David Roddy was an NBA player during the draft. I was not a believer.
Grizzlies with 14 of their 28 points in the paint already. This team won’t truly take that next step until they can find a way to add a rim protector to this roster
Perimeter defense just seems to let the offensive player walk in to the paint
Nice pass by Davion
Was that taunting or was Jackson making sure Fox was ok after he fouled him?
At first glance it looked like a ‘you good?’ to me
Same here.
Well…..
Lol.
Might not be a Metu night. The stage looks too big for him
Maybe time for Holmes?
He’s trying to be what we need. The problem is…he just isn’t.
On the other hand, before the season started, did anyone really think that we were one player away from being a 50 win team? It certainly feels like it at this point. Question is, how do we find a rim protector without affecting the chemistry of this group?
Really hope Monte can work a trade at some point to get an upgrade at the backup 5 spot. Holmes SHOULD be that guy but he just doesn’t look like a good fit with this offense
Metu needs to step it up and the Kings need to try to be a little less fancy with their offense.
With a couple tweaks, this Grizzlies roster may have the defensive potential of last year’s Celtics squad. So much interchangeable length, strength, and commitment on that end. This is an incredibly well constructed team.
Between these two coaches, we may be here all night
This Memphis crowd is quiet as hell
Forget Bagley over Luka. Bagley over JJJ????
JJJ would be so perfect with this roster too. Sigh
Was just sitting here and thinking exactly the same thing.
That happens all the time here. I wish I was the guy who thought of it first
He’s the made-in-a-lab 4 to play next to Sabonis
Richie provided a lot of excellent stats and arguments leading up to that draft that the Kings should have drafted JJJ.
That Jaren Jackson, Jr. guy is pretty good. We should try to stop him.
Memphis going for 70+ in the paint today
30 to 24 paint points advantage Memphis now. It’s starting to tilt even.
Kings look overmatched physically/athletically, yet they’re tied. Been a running theme of the season – staying in games when they’re not playing their best.
What a dime from Monk on that Huerter 3
3 bad calls now that have hurt Kings.
Ja’s like Foxe’s mirror image
Kings are getting mugged by the refs. Again.
Huerter for 3
I’m at the point where any time Huerter misses a 3 I’m genuinely surprised
Caw caw caw
Such BS
That rip through crap needs to go.
Like the aggression from Keegan – even if the shot didn’t go.
So teams can beat the living shit out of the Kings and that’s fine, but “bait” fouls? Oh yes, let’s be sure to call EVERY SINGLE ONE of those.
Ugh….
Refs have been awful but I think we can overcome.
That’s IQ.
Gotta hit your FT’s!
Missing 3 out 4 FTs before the end of the half
# pt shooting stats have totally flipped
3 pt
Goes without saying but Fox doesn’t get that call that Ja got just now on that drive against Sabonis
Bane out for load management, lameeeeee
He has a toe injury
Which is why he is “lameeeeee”!
Your right, hes actually been out a ton of games so far, that’s unfortunate
Kings are a slightly better team than the Grizz. That’s a pleasant surprise.
IMO that’s an overstatement. With my overly sceptical POV I’d say the Kings are closer to Memphis level is a surprisingly good development
Not really, Bane had been balling out this year. Plus he would’ve scored like 40 on us and we’d be down by 10 at the half
I still think the Grizz are slightly better (or at least, more complete), but they played a terrible second quarter. After Mike Brown’s timeout 90 seconds in, that might have been the best non-last 3 minutes of the 4th quarter defense that the Kings have played all season.

Disagreement is cool. I’m just looking forward to how the Kings play against a team that is actually better than them, like Boston.
I think we’re both just happy to see the Kings hang with every team they play – including a very talented Memphis team. ????
Brown or somebody needs to light a fire under Keegan Murray’s ass. He has lost his aggression and is literally invisible out there.
Murray went from confident to looking somewhat lost in a matter of weeks. I know he has a family issues going on, but man it’s rough.
As a huge Murray fan I think it might be good for him to come if bench again until he get swagger back… he is 4th option and think he is stressing to much about missing vs just playing.. if he was 1st it 2nd option he knows he will be ok if he misses… not worried long term about him at all
Feels more like a rookie adjusting to the NBA than the family issues at this point.
Agree
Yep.
It gets overlooked, too, that he picked up basketball late. This is the first time he’s ever had to make an adjustment like this.
But he’s too smart, too collected, and too talented not to figure it out.
It’s a long season. We’re doing fine without him right now, but ultimately we’ll need him. And when we do, I have no doub’t that he’ll be ready.
Excellent points Noda. I agree.
Oh my God, what the hell are the Jazz wearing tonight? Looks like they raided a bunch of CalTrans lockers for snow chain safety vests.
My theory is that their Jerseys are gonna be worn by younger fans and in the snow, ice, fog and rain they thought if they went with roadworker colors there would be less chance of the kids being hit by a car as they jaywalked……or something
????
good half, but Keegan Murray still playing like this?
I don’t blame Keegan for not taking that charge
Ugly start.
Sabonis bro, what the hell. Twins towers and you don’t jump very high. Forcing it.
Kings missing their chance to build on that lead to open the 3rd
This dude in the Grizzlies arena doing the stuff during timeouts is wild. Helmet hair. Fake tan
Sweet trey by Fox
4 chances! Rebound!
somehow didn’t cost the Kings
JJJ blocking everything this quarter. He has 3 fouls…need to find a way to get him his 4th quickly
He’s supposed to be on a minutes restriction, thank goodness. Hopefully they hold to that.
Fox man
Barnes just knows when it’s time to drive to the bucket and get a foul. It settles the team down, gets them a good scoring opportunity, and sucks the air out of the arena.
Beautiful defense leading to an easy Fox bucket on that last sequence.
Need to get Keegan cutting and not just relegated to corner duty.
Yeah, these last few games I just don’t understand why they’re (I’m assuming it’s by design) are just planting him out there.
Ugly game for Keegan on both ends
What in the world has happened to his soft touch?
Overthinking will take you out of your natural flow and rhythm in a hurry.
Those rip through fouls are bull shit
Yup
And another bait foul….sigh.
Huerter has a nose for the rebound. More times than not he’s in the right place
Murray having a very rough game
Ja’s an artist
Ja is clearly benefiting from preferential calls
Shot got blocked and he looked defeated. He needs an easy look to drop
He’s getting schooled a lot
Ja gets the GD calls Fox should get.
Here we go with the tickey tack fouls. Such crap.
Every game is rigged against the kings
If Ja is going to keep drawing ticky-tack fouls, might as well make the foul worth it and get physical with him, hammer him a bit.
Bench hasn’t been very productive tonight
For the first time this season, Kings D keeping them in this game.
They’re doing a good job disrupting passing lanes and generating a ton of steals.
What about a Santi Aldama trade?
This might be the ugliest quarter of basketball I have seen in a long time
What Trey is doing on D is everything you don’t get from Metu
Grizz getting run off their own floor. Can you find one that doesn’t look worn out?
I love Malik Monk
TD with a nice steal from Ja.
TD either hitting all his 3’s or hitting none lol
Hopefully the Kings are saving all their open 3’s they hit for the 4th quarter after all these misses in the 3rd
Quite the brick-fest tonight …on both sides.
Nice pass from fox to Davion
It’s like Memphis doesn’t know who Davion is.
Fox is incredible
Fox shot is pure!
