2nd unit has no rhythm or flow. Just take some errant shots and letting Tyus Jones blow it up

Is Murray an elite shooting prospect? Because he feels damn near automatic any time he gets a semi-open look.

This half has definitely been rife with coaching/rotation mistakes, primo being American first off the bench when the lineup was starting off well (finally)

Fox is currently 6th in the entire NBA in usage, behind Luka, Giannis, Ja, Young, and Embiid, and tonights game looks to increase that. I’m not sure that is a recipe for success going forward.
Do I like our chances in the second hald? No. It’s the little things that kills this team. Can’t get a rebound off two missed free throws, can’t get crucial rebounds, allow second chance points, pick up ticky tack fouls.. winning teams never make these mistakes
I was thinking something similar in the first half. Every game, this team gives away at least 6-8 points on the tiniest little things.

Until that stops, this doesn’t change.
But for the record, I do believe that it will at some point this season. Only question is, will it come too late to matter?

I liked what I saw from Moneke. Created second chance efforts and took on the point of attack on defense.
I think this is the first glimpse of Brown grasping a bit to find a rotational player. From having KZ as a starter to DNP and now playing Moneke and Metu is quite the change.

Hate to say it, but I think you’re right.
I’m afraid that this might be true.
You certainly can’t trade an asset like Haliburton for him knowing Sabonis’ faults and then do nothing to try and mitigate that. Then again, most saw the trade for what it was, a desperation move by a GM/FO to try and end the drought without really thinking too much about the long-term.

Yeah it’s really hard to point to any one thing. Just on every level, they aren’t as good as the team’s they’ve faced.
It is talent though. They play guys like Metu, Moneke, Okpala who should not be getting minutesbthat matter in a game. Holmes forgot how to play too. TD is sporadic, etc. It’s really bad talent that is getting minutes.
Yes, the Kings are grossly talent deficient, as some of us have pointed out for a long time.
There’s a lot of guys on this roster that would be G League for most other NBA franchises.
Of the players that actually see the floor in any sort of volume, who would be G-League on “most” other NBA franchises? The bench seems pretty comparable to any other NBA bench – Holmes & Monk have played high minutes on several other teams, Mitchell is young and highly drafted, Davis was a solid bench player in Miami (off-court issues aside).
KZ, Metu and Delly are arguably G-league players, but every team has a few of those. You only need 10 guys for a decent rotation and I do think Metu has enough combination of skill and size to be intriguing. KZ starting was weird, though, I will grant that.
Feels like Brown is desperately looking for someone who can get a stop but that guy is just not on this roster. McNair needs to bring in a true 3&D wing and rim protector.

It’s pretty basic at all levels in basketball. If you look bad, can’t execute fundamentals, and make dumb mistakes, then you aren’t going to get calls. If you do execute, and play aggressively, you do.
Kings need a generational talent to make the playoffs. Just too many teams with that alpha dog hall of famer. Fox ain’t it. Sabonis ain’t it. Here’s hoping the Kings tank and get the French kid.

The answer is to jump through tables before every game. Trust me on this, I’m an expert on horrible sad sack teams that miss the playoffs for 17 years in a row.
One thing I like to look at is the quarter scores. You want to be in the 30s with you opponent in the 20s. Both teams were very consistent tonight. Mem was 32, 31, 31, 31. Kings 28, 28, 27, 27.
