I hate national TV games. I can’t watch them on my NBA TV subscription. Plus, I’d much rather listen to Kayte and Kyle then a bunch of national media talking heads who haven’t seen a Kings game since Webber. They only ever care about whichever big market team we’re playing that night anyway.
But I especially don’t like that the Clips are probably going to win this one, while the ESPN crew slanders Sabonis all night for having fake triple-doubles or whatever.
Everyone is engaged on both ends. Ball is moving well, guys are working hard off ball, we’re a second faster to 50/50 balls, defense is solid – very good signs.
ESPN commentary has been talking so glowingly of LAC and so terrible of SAC that Doris thought it was worth mentioning at one point that the Kings were, in fact, winning.
Sabonis needs to stop losing his shit when he plays against strong bigs like Zubac. Although he’s put up decent numbers so far. He just seems to panic and loose his handles.
He is announcing a game his eyes are not seeing. It’s all tilted to one team and I don’t even think he realizes he is doing it. His NBA GM skills tell him the players on the Clips are better than the players on the Kings, reputation, achievements, and he can’t announce the game he is watching.
Come on Bob. Easy DHO assist for our guy is why he gets so many? Yah Bod don’t give him credit for he stellar non moving screens. Hey Bob how do you build a dynasty? Moving screens you say.
Feels like they need too many things to go exactly right. Health, team chemistry, matchups, good v. bad nights, etc. For this team to have a chance at a deep run it needs 100% optimization and I just don’t think it’s going to be there reliably enough.
That is simply negligent analysis by Bob there saying that the reason Sabonis gets the double doubles and triple doubles is because the ball goes through him so much.
Does he say that about the Joker and his triple doubles.
I don’t deny that part of his career. But, here is an example of being unprepared or not calling a game his eyes are seeing. Bob said four times when Fox went to the bench “where are the points going to come from without fox?” A decent announcer would say from Monk who is one of the better 6th men in the game, or Harrison Barnes, an excellent iso down low shooter who came in when Fox went out. He did not. He kept saying where are the points going to come from, and the Kings, as Beth noted, actually extended the Kings lead.
then followed it up immediately with “he didn’t have a great playoffs” – lmao. fully tipping the fact he is not calling the game in front of him but rather some nebulous idea of who the players are
The stat sheet is stuffed for Fox, but his D was stifling and he played the passing lanes as well as any guard in the league tonight. With 3:30 left in the game he stole or diverted the ball on three straight possessions and tossed dirt on top of the Clips Coffin.
Love listening to these know-nothing ESPN color guys eat crow during these national TV games. Kings have played really well on the national stage. It leaves guys like Bob baffled and defeated as they begrudgingly mention that Fox and Sabonis did indeed beat their fave team.
Your post re Westbrook’s use of his off arm and elbow did not go unnoticed. All, I have to say it again, All of his shots had a push off, or a high elbow across the bridge of the nice or a shoulder push as he bowled his way to the basket. His best days are behind him, I think your post made me realize how much I am coming to loath the free arm push, or the two hands on the defenders chest push off that Steph uses regularly. He’s a great shooter, the best over, he doesn’t need to do it, but it’s a big part of his game.
Yes, troll. The point was beating the last place team in the West (Spurs) shouldn’t get you all excited. As a good team, you should expect to beat a bad team. Not worth celebrating like you won a playoff series, like what you were doing. I even stated that Sundays game vs the Clippers would be worth showing some excitement, since they lead the division and handedly beat the Kings the first two times (double digits both times). Kings have 4th toughest schedule remaining. More work to be done. Tonight without Jimmy Butler, this is a game the Kings need to capitalize on. Still a good team without him, of course. Nothing wrong with being an objective fan. Still need either Murray or Lyles/another bench player to start giving consistent value on the court. Good to see Huerter has been playing better the last couple weeks, but still need consistency from another starter and bench player to remain above the play in line. Not sure another bench player we currently have is capable of that though…however, Murray is capable and needs to hit his stride by early March. Go Kings! Don’t be a troll, who tells half the story. Hobbit916
A win is a win. And when did I celebrate like it was a playoff victory? Yeah, they should beat the Spurs, and being excited or happy about that is totally fine.
I’m done being all salty this season about “bad” wins and playing down to their competition. Just get the freaking Win and move on to the next game.
Now there is another asshat, Tim Legler, on ESPN on the SVP show denigrating Sabonis. Christ. They just beat the third/fourth seed as the standings are tonight and the negative comments flow like tears.
I agree Hobby, Lowe has some really great podcasts that I really enjoy listening to, it’s a little oriented toward eastern conference teams but that is ok. He does really decent analysis and has interesting guests.
Tim Legler: “Sabonis isn’t that dynamic 2nd guy like the other teams contending in the West have.”
You do realize he leads the league in triple doubles and doubles, almost averaging a triple double for the season, and is scoring 20ppg? What else does he need to do to be of a dynamic 2nd guy?
It’s because he doesn’t have one gaudy 50+ point game like KAT. That’s what pisses me off. Some guys go off for one game and get all the love versus our guy who puts up 20/13/10 every single night.
LEZ DOO DIS!
I’m seeing the Kings as 3.5 point underdogs.
Go Kings and all, but the Kings have to be bigger underdogs than that.
Weirdly it’s called on both espn and nbc sports
Harden thought he could drive on Keegan lol
Swatted.
Kings win puts them back in 5th place
I thought this game was in Sac… I thought wrong!
More Westbrook jumpers, please.
Yo, yo, yo, let’s go Kings! They’re playing some pesky defense so far!
Kings making the Clippers look a bit slow so far.
Bob Myers does color for ESPN now. Weird.
Everyone is engaged on both ends. Ball is moving well, guys are working hard off ball, we’re a second faster to 50/50 balls, defense is solid – very good signs.
Kings looking sharp. Love long range Westbrick shots.
No Paul George?
Nope.
Harrison………..
Brown needs to throw some size on Zubac, preferably by playing Len.
Russ just stiff armed Davion and they called a foul on Mitchell
Clips are getting away with a lot of physical play.
Sabonis has been getting smacked on the face and arms on most of his shots with no calls
We all jinxed them by praising their initial effort
Shhhh!
It’s unlucky to be superstitious. 😉
Down 3 after Q1, and Domas is 1-8. Missing easy ones too
The Clippers even without George eclipse the Kings by more than 100 million
This seems bold in retrospect, no?
Already time to watch something else.
Monk is having a bad Monk game
Nice drive by Fox!
how many players would you rather have play 82 games + playoffs healthy than Kawhi? Jokic and Giannis seem obvious. Curry? AD? Bron? Luka? Tatum? Idk…
Harden can just shove people down and no call.
PJ Tucker playing like an old man!
He’s been an old man since 2019!
Fox fouled hard last two possessions and surprisingly the refs said no… no. not a foul.
On back-to-back Clipper possesions Harden has commited a blatant and uncalled 8 second violation and then a shove on Duarte
Duarte has been a basketball player
Hey, the refs finally called an offensive foul on the clippers!
This dude on the espn announcing team is a turd in the punch bowl of NBA fair analysis.
Architect of the Dud dynasty, btw
He sounds like somebody you kick off your podcast because they don’t bring anything.
stay patient… I like this small ball lineup
Rough game so far for Monk.
Fucking terrible.
He’s out of control, needs to slow down.
Sixers, Lakers, and Clippers have to be the holy trinity of gaming the refs.
ESPN commentary has been talking so glowingly of LAC and so terrible of SAC that Doris thought it was worth mentioning at one point that the Kings were, in fact, winning.
Amen
Anybody know what PG’s injury is?
Knee
Thank you
It happened by ducking Fox tonight, lol
Seems like every Clipper that Keegan is defending just wants to pass the ball immediately.
And find whoever Davion is guarding
Sabonis needs to stop losing his shit when he plays against strong bigs like Zubac. Although he’s put up decent numbers so far. He just seems to panic and loose his handles.
Sabonis said “Fuck” on National television and I heard it and understand it.
HB doing it
The commenters are surprised the Kings are winning every time they look at the score board
Huerter just drove the ball and scored it twice in a row.
He’s really been putting it all together lately
ESPN’s announcers make the Kings crew look like Marv Albert and Howard Cosell.
I actually like Mark Jones. He is hot fish grease in context
Sabonis is having a “bad” game and 7pts, 9reb, 7ast
ESPN’s color heard one of Katey’s three-possession-long stories having nothing to do with the game and said, “Hold my beer.”
Again, Bob Myers, GM of the Warriors dynasty, everyone.
Wereors
He is awful.
LOL. Right. Mention team fouls or something pertinent
That did it…the turd dude on the announcing team “….people just don’t understand….”
Going to listen to Geroud announce the game this fellow is awful. Geroud is even handed.
I feel like his mic is turned down. How much do you pay someone to suck at their job so much you turn their mic down.
He is announcing a game his eyes are not seeing. It’s all tilted to one team and I don’t even think he realizes he is doing it. His NBA GM skills tell him the players on the Clips are better than the players on the Kings, reputation, achievements, and he can’t announce the game he is watching.
I perceive the same thing… Virtual AI everybody.
you would’ve thought Sabonis banged this ESPN guy’s wife
And made him watch in a gimp outfit.
Who says TV doesn’t provide educational content? In this game, for eхample, I learned that Bob Myers is a halftard.
Clippers paying more than 120 million for this team everybody
tbf about 40 mil of it is out tn
I subtracted George’s contract.
Do we really need to double Kahwi? Let the old man take all the shots tonight
I feel a brick is coming on…
Wrong and wrong. Nice ft’s by Fox!
Come on Bob. Easy DHO assist for our guy is why he gets so many? Yah Bod don’t give him credit for he stellar non moving screens. Hey Bob how do you build a dynasty? Moving screens you say.
Still don’t understand why Mitchell gets court time. 6 minutes, -7. Hasn’t done a thing except commit 2 fouls.
Yeah, PG is out, but I’m not feeling blown away by this Clippers squad.
Feels like they need too many things to go exactly right. Health, team chemistry, matchups, good v. bad nights, etc. For this team to have a chance at a deep run it needs 100% optimization and I just don’t think it’s going to be there reliably enough.
great game so far..
its games like this where my stance the kings will dump huerter/barnes to keep monk seem a bit off lol. but Malik was due an off game
The game is not over.
Malik will come to play the second half…and control the ball hopefully.
Credit where credit is due.
In the third post of this thread, @jwalker1395 called the Domas slander and Clipper bias by the ESPN crew.
tomorrow I predict the sun will rise
The Sun doesn’t “rise”…technically speaking
-Bob Meyers, after The Sun closes in on another triple-double by halftime
We could really use a backup point guard. Mitchell just hasn’t progressed the way we thought he would.
He is really bad. “Pesky” defender but not a good defender.
How do you play over eight and a half minutes with nothing to show for it except two fouls. And this the first time, he does this quite often.
isn’t the first time
Who’s we?
Who do you think?
Oh yeah.
This second half will show what this “stay the course” team this is made of.
I think the first half showed a few things too. But, I take your point.
Great start to the 3rd. Reminder: no lead is safe. Keep pushing.
Kings gotta be up by 15 to grt some love from the ESPN broadcast crew
Love the chants of Sacramento and Defense in favor of the Kings!
“It’s because they run so much through him that he gets those numbers” says the guy on ESPN about Sabonis. LOL.
Epic take Brad
Taughting call on the Kings’ bench. Are you fucking kidding me?
“it’s because they run so much through him thats’s why he gets those numbers” Epic take ESPN
I just said that! LOL.
Rec’d!
That is simply negligent analysis by Bob there saying that the reason Sabonis gets the double doubles and triple doubles is because the ball goes through him so much.
Does he say that about the Joker and his triple doubles.
This guy is really brain dead as an announcer.
Is that Bob? Wow, he’s doing color? Talk about white privilege.
It’s bad announcing, unprepared, no more and no less.
He did lead one of the best dynasties for a decade, so he has a pretty good amount of experience.
Bob has gotten a bit quieter since that Sabonis dunk widened the Kings lead to 17
Is that Doris on ESPN?
No.
Sounds like her! Who is it?
Beth
I mistook her for Doris earlier, too
Is it Bob and Doris on ESPN?
Clippers getting schooled and yet somehow Bob Myers still just talking endlessly about Harden.
Zubacs is such a Kaboog!
Bob Myers sounds like such a huge Clippers fan.
He keeps hopefully saying, “There’s a lot of game left . . . “
Is Bob Myers the guy talking on the ESPN feed?
Yeah
Thank you
Cool game so far. Seems more like a playoff atmosphere. Might be called differently also, not sure.
Huerter is playing great tonight!
Maybe the best game of the season for him
Has the ESPN crew mentioned Domas’ triple double in a positive way
Sabonis be like Swipa and shit!
Strong move by HB
Barnes posting up like a beast.
Ref’s are corrupt with that no call. but I understand because of the cash.
Monk and Mitchell have been terrible
Monk! There’s still time for him.
Bob Myers implying all game that Domas’s numbers are empty.
Then just now he says, “Those are not empty numbers.”
L O L
then followed it up immediately with “he didn’t have a great playoffs” – lmao. fully tipping the fact he is not calling the game in front of him but rather some nebulous idea of who the players are
Nice catch. I caught that too late, right after I had posted.
“But he remembered that and worked on getting better, which he has done this season”
Kings are on cruise control and LA fans be like…. lol
Are they gonna call Westbrook’s off arm at any point tonight? He uses it like a weapon.
I’d assume this is how they’re calling it tonight.
And Kawhi, and Harden.
HB has been terrific tonight, and since the break. Glad the Kings didn’t trade him.
lyles, nice clean-up
Get Huerter back in there. He’s been an aggressive rebounder.
Keegan !
Harden gets so many bullshit calls
No Bob, that’s not an “automatic tech” when LBJ and other stars do it. Come on dude.
Fox is mad. I wonder what will happen next.
I am sure Bob Myers has no idea.
Jumper, forced TO, layup.
Forced jump ball.
Any Kings fan knew what was coming.
The tech get Fox going? Whatever. He was already having a great game.
ESPN is giving Fox zero credit for playing a brilliant game.
Exactly
Fourth-quarter Fox let’s go!!
I love Fox when he’s pissed off.
LA cheering Fox while the franchise pays 400 million for their “team”
Davion back in, there goes the Kings lead.
That’s BS.
Take Davion out and get Huerter back in.
refs have changed
That was not a foul on Murray. Man, Myers sounds like a total tool.
Appeared to lead with the chest and have his arms up, but there was no good replay
Keegan has had an exemplary game on D.
Clutch Malik when you need a bucket.
Clippers can not solve the Monk-Domas pick and roll.
Deer in the headlights.
The mini run by Kings and the Time out by Clips helps Kings get Fox a few more minutes rest during the time out.
So proud of these guys when they fight like this. Get Fox another minute of rest then finish this off.
They have played a good game tonight. I also love the fight.
Clippers getting punked on their home floor.
Game is far from over.
I recognize that the Clippers have a 10-15% chance to win this one.
Still, they’re getting punked on national TV.
Are you listening to the ESPN feed? What is Bob Myers saying now.
He isn’t watching the game.
With his eyes wide open….
Head in the sand. God I love seeing Fox playing like this
The stat sheet is stuffed for Fox, but his D was stifling and he played the passing lanes as well as any guard in the league tonight. With 3:30 left in the game he stole or diverted the ball on three straight possessions and tossed dirt on top of the Clips Coffin.
Amen
Now it is Eddie. But, you were dead on correct at 3:25 left in the game.
Clips’ slow BORING isolation play is benefitting the Kings. It’s burning the clock up!
It’s so bad.
Six more points wins this.
Annnnd they took the Clipper’s dunk away because it didn’t beat the shot clock!
That’s a momentum killer!
Commercials are the worst thing. Just a bunch of garbage.
Kawhi smacks the ball in to domas face, and foul on sabonis? How does that work??
“Cost of doing business” according to Bob. Guess ball to the face is an automatic defensive foul?
the algorithm is if LAC < OPP under 3, foul on OPP.
So are you allowed to slam the ball into someone’s face? Asking for a friend.
Come on Bob won’t you tell us how the ball is a weapon?
Quick hands Keegan !
LTB!!!
I’ve been super critical of Fox but he’s played fantastic tonight. Much credit deserved!
I had something in my eye Miller, can you repeat that?
Well said.
You’re right, he had a great game and as good as the stat sheet will show, I think his defense was absolutely superb, and a difference maker. .
Fox bucket
GG
Great game by these feisty Kings! Light the Beam!
Bob Myers sounds disappointed.
Deep down he knows the Kings are now the better NorCal team.
after reading y’all’s comments about Myers, I’m glad I got Kayte and Kyle on tonight.
Game. Love the fire that the guys played
Kings balled out. Here we stayed!
Love listening to these know-nothing ESPN color guys eat crow during these national TV games. Kings have played really well on the national stage. It leaves guys like Bob baffled and defeated as they begrudgingly mention that Fox and Sabonis did indeed beat their fave team.
Music!
They obviously don’t watch kings game or prepare for the telecast.
“How do the Kings generate half court offense when Fox is out?”…Domas and Monk go to work, like they have all season when Fox is resting.
Watching Bob get exposed in real time by Monk and Sabonis was sublime
Exactly. When Myers asked that question, I thought, “Uh, Monk-Domas action, obviously,” just like you did.
Top 2 or 3 Kings game of the season in every way. Defense, offense, entertainment value.
Just a joy to watch.
Amazing game by our All-Stars!
Your post re Westbrook’s use of his off arm and elbow did not go unnoticed. All, I have to say it again, All of his shots had a push off, or a high elbow across the bridge of the nice or a shoulder push as he bowled his way to the basket. Excellent post during the game.
Sacramento chants! I love it! Now it’s Light the Beam!
Light the Beam chants. LOL
And they are LOUD! Wonder how many Kings fans are there this time?
Couldn’t believe how loud those chants were
Best win of the season? We were all talking about how important these next 28 were and the Kings have shown up post all-star break ready to play.
Wow, big-time win right there. Really showed some toughness and maturity in this game. And on national TV, no less.
Light the Beam chants in LA… epic loss for ESPN announcers and some other people paying a lot of money for a team to lose.
LTMFB and stick a fork in it. We got this. Great Kings game. Nice win especially after the dubs, Lakers and Pels all lost
The loud LTB chants in their arena was awesome. Great game tonight!
Epic win in LA
Fox fueled fire. Saved the game when the clips got it to 5. Solid, solid win. National audience got to hear Sac-ra-men-to and LTB chants. Love it
Are we allowed to be excited about this win? Asking for a friend
Tell your friend: “Yes”
Let it rip!
Yes, troll. The point was beating the last place team in the West (Spurs) shouldn’t get you all excited. As a good team, you should expect to beat a bad team. Not worth celebrating like you won a playoff series, like what you were doing. I’m done being all salty this season about “bad” wins and playing down to their competition. Just get the freaking Win and move on to the next game.
From 8th to 7th to 5th in two games.
Fox put up great numbers and made zero threes. 12/22 from the field. O/4 from three.
And 9 for 10 free throws
Now there is another asshat, Tim Legler, on ESPN on the SVP show denigrating Sabonis. Christ. They just beat the third/fourth seed as the standings are tonight and the negative comments flow like tears.
You know what? Fuck ESPN!
The only person I like on ESPN is Zach Lowe. Wildhorse is okay. The others suck.
I agree Hobby, Lowe has some really great podcasts that I really enjoy listening to, it’s a little oriented toward eastern conference teams but that is ok. He does really decent analysis and has interesting guests.
ESPN is to sports what MTV in 2024 is to music.
He’s also not an all star, apparently.
Just absurd commentary.
How embarrassing for ESPN.
It’s because he doesn’t have one gaudy 50+ point game like KAT. That’s what pisses me off. Some guys go off for one game and get all the love versus our guy who puts up 20/13/10 every single night.
Is this a blowout win! Asking for a piece of shit friend that lives in LA
You could tell by the reaction of Clippers fans with about 3 minutes left in the game…
&ct=g
Clippers are like a video game team you don’t want to play.
It’s a good game thread when there are more posts than game points.
Wahts a game point?
I need to apologize to Draper for my Celtics-Clippers prediction from 3 nights ago.
Badge Legend
