Let’s Go! We don’t need Gallo to say it, we like our chances! But it would be neat if Gallo were to say it.
Not gonna hold it against you at all. For me it’s just a matter of respect. Was thinking about putting up something similar but you beat me to it.
Gallo del Cielo likes our chances.
Our chances are good
Happy to see you here Gallo
Best thoughts to Gallo and his wife!
great sequence from Keegan there. tipped a lose ball back to a teammate. tipped a rebound back to a teammate. then drove for bucket.
Great point.
Kings need to shoot more than just 3’s. They’re settling for them even though Chicago is leaving them wide open daring them to take those.
yeah, 2nd game of a back-to-back might have something to do with it. Bulls playing excellent D and Kings a bit sloppy.
Enough with the three point attempts already!
Another great first quarter for Fox.
he’s pacing himself to win both games of a back-to-back
this might be a game for a Fox / Mitchell backcourt.
or Fox / Monk
Missing: Kevin Huerter’s jumper
Has been for awhile too, I fear.
Has Gallo mentioned that he still likes our chances.
I believe you just have, Gallo.
We knew you were there and liking our chances………..goes without saying
You have defined Gallo’s life.
Legit did not know that Drummond was on the Bulls
Slow start which makes sense but they fought through it and retake the lead and now look like they got their legs under them
if kz can keep making shots on the offensive end, he has to get more playing time, that spin move was surprising.
His defense is so good
So wonderfully disruptive!!!
Made me forget his first 4(4?) starts 2 games ago. Coach Brown knows more than I or anyone else here. I keep forgetting that.
yeah, he and davion have to play together more often for good switching and POA defense, honestly them two make the best defensive lineups
Might need to break out an apology form on Metu. Was really not liking the experiment of him as the backup 5 but he’s getting more and more comfortable out there. Has really picked it up lately
Yep…gotta be tough for any competitor to swallow their ego and pare their game down to what’s being asked of them. But in this case, Mike Brown knew him well enough, knew his game well enough, and had enough of a (previous) relationship with him, that I think Mezi was willing to make changes he otherwise might not have been willing to make.
He’s still not quite the rim protector we need, but he’s developing into at least a serviceable version of that for this club this year.
And that’s making a surprising difference.
Solid start and hope Mark and Kayte start talking about the game in front of them instead of everything else .
Bulls are going to get stomped if they aren’t careful.
KZ has got Demar in jail out here.
You love to see it
thus far, he’s D’d up Derozan well
Make. Your. FTs. Davion.
Malik Monk
Malik Monk, what a good pick up
Gotta say any trade proposal needs to make an EXTREMELY compelling case that any incoming player will outweigh the value of this team’s current chemistry
Honestly? I don’t think I’d mess with it this season – or only outside of the Top 7-8 guys anyway. Let this group have a full season to gel (maybe even 2?). I think back to the 98-99 nucleus that had a couple of seasons together before the first big chemistry change (Williams for Bibby) that took them to the next level. Would that jump have happened if they had messed with the chemistry too soon?
We’ll never know for sure, but we did see a mini-version of the opposite with the Shumpert trade a few years back. (Not that Shumpert was anything special, but it clearly messed with a group that was on the verge of finishing over .500.)
I’m just gonna pretend that the Kings drafted Monk at 10th overall in the 2017 draft
And loaned him to Charlotte and LA for 5 years. 🙂
After the Fox pick Vlade really bungled that draft.
If the Kings ever bother to stop taking 3’s, I think they’ll be alirght. They are 12-13 from 2 and 9-26 from 3 on the game (along with 12 TOV’s so far).
It’s refreshing to see a Bulls team that has so much talent be outclassed by the Kings.
One team has chemistry, the other doesn’t.
Monte’s genius is finding rotation quality NBA players that are undervalued by their organization for one reason or another.
Pacers were antsy to move either Sabonis or Turner and Monte was happy to assist. Hawks had a logjam at the guard spot and McNair gave Huerter a new home. Lakers were too cash strapped to retain Monk, Monte brought out the checkbook. It’s just excellent business.
And with free agents reluctant to come here, this was the only way (in the short-term at least) that the Kings were going to be able to build a playoff-quality roster without a full tear down and rebuild.
It’s kind of Moneyball for the NBA, and it’s extremely hard to do. Much credit to Monte for understanding his situation and being patient…even when the rest of us weren’t.
I love these two comments above. Monte has put on a master class to the point that when this team plays solid defense, I am squinting to see if maybe we could eke out a top 5 spot. We were all so impatient while he was slowly but deliberately putting the pieces of a fun team together, starting with the 2020 draft of Tyrese.
Between him and Brown, I might be more excited about team leadership than I am about the roster. And I’m super excited about the roster.
Demar having a disastrous half. Kings defense kicking his ass
with Monk hitting shots, the Bulls have to put Caruso on him, leaving him off Fox
If the Kings work the ball inside more, and stop turning it over when they drive, I love their chances at blowing out this Bulls team. They are fragmented and broken right now.
we’ll see. Bulls might have fresher legs. Kings on a back-to-back
I’m not terribly concerned about that. Brown is going deep into his bench and it’s not like the starters played 40 minutes yesterday against LA. They need to come out and deliver the KO to the Bulls in the 3rd qtr IMO. That would be telling me they are ready for the next step.
I’m not expecting this mind you, but that’s what needs to happen.
This just in…this Kings squad is pretty good, and this coaching staff is absolutely phenomenal.
TD hasn’t played yet. is he injured?
Yeah, OUT with lower back soreness
Huh. In the first half DeRozan scored minus 8 points on minus 3 for 11 shooting.
I think he just broke mathematics.
That absolutely should be a flagrant
flagrant one or two? call it
I think the only reason it wasn’t 2 because DeRozan isn’t a dirty guy and it clearly wasn’t intentional on replay.
Clear Flagrant 1
Wouldn’t be surprised if it ends up being a F2.
DeRozan should be tossed for that play.
absolutely a 2 if a Kings player did that
Well, that’s the definition of a flagrant foul.
DeRozan isn’t a dirty player but that was uncalled for.
Crap…Lavine is on a heater right now
Davion?
I’d stay the course and continue to let LaVine rack up numbers. It’s DeRozan you need to keep from going off.
Oh lawd. We’re in for another episode of Cardiac Kings, I fear.
Well…..yeah
Davion struggling against Bulls length
Brown needs to get Monk in with this group now
Okpala drew a foul from DeRozan. didn’t expect that one
Kings just all out of sorts right now. Not handling this Bulls defensive pressure well
Monk waking up the Kings once again
OH OH OH OH MALIK MONK!
Domas is too damn reluctant to shoot. Has he even attempted a shot in the 3rd quarter???
That was …….awesome!
Monk has special hops
Malik is the best athlete on this Kings team….and that’s saying something.
Kings are going to need De’Aaron Fox to be great to win this game, me thinks.
18 turnovers for the Kings. That’s whats keeping the Bulls in this
That and the Kings can’t get any clean looks off from 2. Bulls are daring them to shoot the 3 and the Kings aren’t taking enough of advantage.
Let the Bulls hang around and theybclawed their way back in to make this conpetitive
KZ isnt’ the best passer I’ve ever seen…yikes.
OKpala is a pleasant surprise. I find myself staering to think Coach..time to put in Okpala yet?
For his D
“Value the ball.”
-Jerry Reynolds
Didn’t even realize Fox was on the floor.
Brutal quarter. Bulls upped their defensive intensity and the Kings really struggling to find an answer for it. Ball movement has slowed and turnovers have skyrocketed
Because Domas won’t shoot the damn ball when he gets it in the paint. It’s against Vuc, he ain’t a good defender
I think that’s a big part of it actually. The Kings really need either Domas or De’Aaron to get in there and De’Aaron hasn’t been successful getting in there consistently.
And Domas gets it an immediately looks to pass. Bugs me.
Liked what Keegan did there to end the 3rd. He just missed the shot.
Take it to the rack and hold them under 30
Well, looks like a nail biter tonight.
Monk
Was the Tech on Fox or Brown?
Fox.
Fox got mugged there
unreal. probably in the report
is that a foul when another player pulls your head back? let me check the rulebook …
Kings are down to 1 TO now after that last timeout by Brown. I hope he knows that.
Can’t let the refs get in their heads. Fox was fouled, Bulls are getting away with a lot of contact….Kings need to keep their composure and run their offense
No charge?
Looks like another 8 vs 5 game
My thoughts exactly
that’s a charge
Obviously commentary will be biased in favor of the franchise hosting it but Kayte’s reactionary arguments over every call is amateurish
I hate Stacey King but he’s actually better at analysis than she is. Sadly.
I miss Jerry.
Don’t we all.
king is terrible but better than Kayte .
I love Malik Monk
If you don’t, you’re not a Sacramento Kings fan. LOL
Monk keeping us in the game, nice pass by Davion
how about that blocked shot by Keegan?
Amazing stuff. I love this kid, his moxie among other things.
yes we don’t get calls, but according to Kayte we get fouled on every play
we do
defense leading to offense. Love to see it.
Never thought I would.
This team rolls over for no one.
2 timeouts left for the Bulls to the Kings only having 1. This had to be exactly what Mike Brown was hoping for when he took that TO after the Fox tech.
heads-up play by Huerter
Just stop turning it over and lock up on defense in crunch time here
We’ve been seeing that happen
So glad to see Domas actually got a layup there.
Horrible call, as ever.
Fox don’t get the calls DeRozan gets
Dpmas got whacked there…hard
Light the Beam chants!
Love it
Is that the guy from Pawn Stars in the front row of Kings games?
Noticed that all season so far
Same here!
So many short fat bald guys around…hard to tell. Is Chumlee with him?
No Chumlee. Looks like Rick Harrison.
GG
Kings defense continues to trend up
Too many games to count in which a Luke Walton team would’ve fell apart once pressure set in, but a Mike Brown team kept cool and took care of business.
Kings continue to show their ability to keep their heads and execute consistently.
Light The Beam.
JWalker,
Who is Luke?
Enjoy your posts!
that’s a great win
In Cartagena Columbia at a surfer place I can’t calL a bar, not even an Ice House. Pickleball and the Kings on TV here. I can feel The Beam warming up from here.
Good chance it will be visible from here with zero cloud cover. A tip of my Sol beer to all Kings fans.
First time all year the Kings won both halves of a b2b.
LIGHT THE BEAM!
Kevin Huerter went 1-11 from 3 today. LOL
That’s…..amazing. And the Kings didn’t lose.
And Domas got a triple double!!! His first of the year if I’m not mistaken!! Wooooot!!!!!
Yeah, he’s regressing to the mean really fast.
Crazy how quick regression hits. Gotta think he’s close to finally getting through this rough stretch after seemingly hitting every damn 3 he took the first 15 or so games.
His short mid range shot with 4 minutes left or so turned the momentum back in the Kings favor.
I was thinking the same thing. It’s great that they can figure out how to win when they only shot 30.2% from three.
Long 6 game road trip coming up. FInd a way to go 3-3 at worst
3-3 will be tough. But if they can pull it off I’ll be happy. I think they can, personally.
Why doesn’t the beam go on immediately after the win
Has to be a vivek decision
Are we streaking again?
Quality b2b wins!
Judging from the box score, looks like the old third quarter blues hit, and there was some bad shooting throughout, but defense seems to have won the game.
You’re correct on that. When we needed stops in the 4th we got stops
What a difference being up 10-15 most of the night. You can absorb a run and pull out a win. In the past it seemed to always be the Kings on the wrong side of that. Kinda disappointed Lavine made that layup to give them 101 points.
