Sacramento Kings center Orlando Robinson suffered an MCL sprain and will miss at least 4 weeks, according to a release from the team. Robinson entered camp as the expected third string center, but as young player with upside there was always a chance he could compete for the second string role. While it’s good that Robinson should be back early in the season, it’s unfortunate that he’ll be missing this critical training camp time where he could learn the system and gain chemistry with his teammates.
We wish Robinson a speedy recovery.

All jokes aside, I feel this may make Robinson expendable by the start of the season. He has $500K guarantee so cutting him may be beneficial longterm. If Monte wants a legit 3rd string center to start the season why would you sit on Robinson’s unguaranteed deal when there are plenty of cheap 3rd string centers in the world.
That being said, If Monte thinks Robinson has a role in the rotation on a night to night basis, then maybe he’s worth guaranteeing. Keep in mind, however, he was let go by Miami, who don’t exactly have a lot of size at the center position.
In the end, we may be approaching Kessler Edwards level of impact on the coming season. So…meh.
Yeah, particularly if Isaac Jones impresses. You could either bump Jones up to the main roster, or have him on the Two-Way and keep someone else on the main roster (or even add a FA).
