During the pre-game press conference before the Kings-Raptors matchup on Friday afternoon, Luke Walton shared that rookies Jahmi’us Ramsey and Robert Woodard will be sent to the NBA G League bubble in the coming days to get some in-game opportunity.
According to Luke Walton, both Jahmi'us Ramsey and Robert Woodard are heading to the G League bubble.

Neither player has come close to cracking the rotation for Walton, as both have only appeared in garbage time throughout the year, with the currently-injured Ramsey appearing for 16 minutes, and Woodard playing for a total of 17 minutes.
Although the Stockton Kings declined to participate in the Orlando-based bubble, and have yet to hire a head coach or any staff since Monte McNair’s takeover, the Kings are still able to send players to the tournament under the banner of another organization, although that team has yet to be named. A total of 18 squads will appear during the severely condensed season, with some being comprised of multiple franchises, like the Frankenstein’s monster that will be the combination of the New Orleans Pelicans and Washington Wizards. The season will start on February 10th and end on March 6th, with a shortened postseason running March 8th – 11th for the eight best teams.
Althought it’s disappointing to hear that neither Ramsey or Woodard will be receiving NBA playing time in the next couple of months, the opportunity to get out and compete against potential NBA players will likely do them more good than sitting and riding the pine for the coming weeks. They’ll get to play against two top-five 2021 NBA Draft prospects in Jonathan Kuminga and Jalen Green when the G League Ignite enters the gym, and several former NBA rotational players will also be in the tournament, such as Yogi Ferrell, Nik Stauskas, Malachi Richardson, Frank Mason, Jarrett Jack, Admiral Schofield, and Zhaire Smith. With some of those games being televised, Kings fans will get to see their rookies play against real competition for the first time since being drafted.
As I mentioned in the the preview thread, I find it interesting that these guys were sent to the G-League bubble while the two-way players in Guy and Metu are staying with the Kings. Keep in mind, the two-way players are limited to 50 games. After that they get cut or must be signed to a regular contract.
Maybe the Kings are hoping for the Stockton Kings to be active come March/April so they can send the two-way guys there and put Woodard and Ramsey back on the bench?
At least they’ll be playing, finally. No sense in putting these two to sleep so that mister touchy-feely can play CoJo and GRIII.
Excited to see Woodard get some run and to see if Ramsey can run an offense beyond getting his own shot.
Jarrett Jack? What is he, 40? Let’s throw some Ramon Sessions and Delonte West in there for good measure.
Both guys to G-League bubble….which means….we may finally see some Parker in garbage time……
Really good news
