Chance Comanche has been arrested by the FBI and is being charged with murder, according to reports that broke via various outlets on Sunday. Comanche most recently played for the Stockton Kings, the G League affiliate of the Sacramento Kings, but was released by Stockton on Friday following his arrest. Comanche was waived immediately by Stockton, before it had even become public what the arrest was related to.
Comanche and his girlfriend, Sakari Harnden, were initially charged with kidnapping related to the disappearance of a 23-year old woman in Las Vegas, but the charges were changed to open murder upon discovery of the woman’s remains.
This is a horrible story. There’s really no other way to put it. I’m thankful the Kings acted swiftly and released Comanche, rather than trotting out the tried and tired “allowing the legal process to play out.” Yet it still is bound to cast a bad light on the franchise to have Comanche even associated with Sacramento and Stokcton. Of course, how it reflects on a basketball franchise is far from the most important element of this whole situation.
Here at the Kings Herald, we are unlikely to cover this story much further as the legal process plays out, but it felt important to address the situation and express our sympathies to the victim’s loved ones.
Whatever the truth may be, may justice be served.

Some dark stuff. I read the NY Post article and it sounds like some psychopath type stuff. Girlfriend looks the part too.
Sounds like the GF lured her in, they killed her and buried the body in the desert. I don’t think they knew the woman prior to kidnapping and killing her. Sends chills down my spine.
Looks like the victim was a ‘friend’ of the GF. Not that it makes it any less horrible.
