Late at night, in the afterglow of the Kings' sweet revenge win over the Grizzlies, Yahoo!'s Marc Spears dropped a minor news bomb on Twitter.
Darren Collison, out for the season? That escalated quickly. D.C. injured his hip flexor on February 5 against the Mavericks, and was listed as day-to-day after an MRI showed a strain. He hasn't played since. Luckily, the Kings traded for Andre Miller at the deadline, and Ray McCallum has been sprinkling in some nice performances.
But given that the team is using the remainder of the season as essentially a 30-game training camp under George Karl, not having Collison — a huge piece of the puzzle — available is a real drag. Here's to hoping Collison's health improves.
