Domas to the Celtics would be fine. Domas for:
Simons (expiring)
Hugo Gonzalez (young wing)
Jordan Walsh (young wing)
Sam Hauser (Good player, 28 years old, needed for salary purposes)
2026 1st round pick (lottery protected pick)
Maybe the Kings can get more, but that looks like a good trade for the Celtics. The Kings move off Domas contract and get some young guys…it’s not amazing, and I don’t think the Kings can get much for Domas.
That would probably be acceptable and would be a good landing spot for Domas.
I’d do that. I was high on Walsh coming out of college and he’s starting to become a real good defender in Boston. I’d also be super stoked on Hugo, but I know Boston also really like him. I guess the issue would be roster space. Kings would need to cut or move three players. McDermott, Saric, and….Westbrook? That package would likley need three or more teams to pull it off.
If that did happen, I’d hope it means Perry dictates to Doug to play Hugo, Walsh, Keegan, Nique and Maxi as much as possible. Hell, I’d even tell LaVine and DDR to stay home at that point. Have their camps work out a trade to somewhere.
I’ll also add, the Kings could then likely flip Simons to a team needing scoring but doesn’t want to take on long term money.
It may sound crazy, but you now have a bunch of 3 and D wings from Boston to go with Keegan and Nique, flip Simons in a package for PG like Tre, Ja, or Ball.
Simons and DDR/Monk/Dennis for one of those guys?
Sabonis to Celtics, Simons and Monk to ATL and Tre, Walsh, Hugo, and Hauser to Kings works salary wise. There is a 3 team deal out there somewhere.
Unless I mistaken, Jordan Walsh was drafted by the Sacramento Kings….
of course, Sac does not develop players so he wouldn’t be the same
If a GM dictates tge playing time to the coach, your process is already FUBAR.
I disagree. The GM should definitely have the ear of the coach when it comes to who should be getting minutes and why. Presti told the Thunder to sit Horford for half a season for the tank. Ainge told the Jazz to pull Lauri in the 4th quarter last year for the tank. If a coach is playing a washed vet over a prospect on a shitty team, then the GM should definitely step in. A coach is trying to win every game when in reality it may not be best for the direction of the franchise.
Listening to Jerry and the guys discussing holiday snacks…
Keep your hands off Jerry’s popcorn!!!
On a tangent, Bill Simmons was talking to Zach Lowe yesterday and they were mocking the Kings endlessly, name a player and team who wants to move a player no one wants but are famous, call Vivek. They did say the Kings and Bulls should not be allowed to trade with each other, and when talking about the Spurs they pondered what did it cost the Spurs to get Fox and Barnes
I wonder the reason if the reason why the Kings can’t make deals (the new salary structure would be a major factor) is that the figure if we wait the Kings out they will do something stupid or will accept those bad offers.
At least the national media isn’t afraid to call out “the dismissive little chap’s
“ buffoonery .
The more the national media ridicule the Kings org, the better.
Simmons and Lowe have been ripping them on both their podcasts all year. There was one a week or so ago they were talking about how many great coaches there are in the league right now. Young guys breaking through and older guys having great years and then they made a comment about Christie and there only being like 2 head coaches in that tier.
“More than anything, we have to keep developing our young players. “We’ve got to find out about guys and develop them. That’s the biggest piece of this puzzle more than anything.”
-Doug Christie
“DeRozan – 39:07
Westbrook – 28:09
Schroder – 25:04
Clifford – 13:19.
Cardwell – DNP-CD
Carter – DNP-CD
Ellis – DNP-CD”

DC is 55 – they’re all whippersnappers in his mind. And probably keep getting on his lawn.
Another fun episode of the TKH Pod – thanks again to Will, Tony and The Great Jerry Reynolds.
I get that you don’t want to find reasons to eat more popcorn – but I have one of the whirlybird poppers that you put on the stovetop (not microwave silicone bowl, or borosilicate glass) and that delivers movie house style popcorn, just a lot of it. It’s the best popcorn popper I’ve used, by far. YMMV.
I will get accustomed to listening to these therapy podcasts while lying down on a couch. When is Coach Freud coming in as a guest ?
Using the podcast as a type of therapy is a good idea and likely better than my go to method of listening while on fitness treadmill . Helps me forget how much I hate the treadmill .
