You guys are great. Thank you for the time and effort.
good podcast as always! and great that everyone still feels good about this team after being able to keep coach Brown and Malik Monk!
Holmes, Holland and Knecht are intriguing prospects who I’d consider at 13. The other names mentioned are also interesting but not as much as the first three. I’d add Filipowski, who I recall was discussed on the previous podcast as someone to consider at 13. The only prospect who I’m higher on than most and would seriously consider at 13 is Baylor Scheierman.
In the 2nd, there are a lot of possibilities. One guy I’d throw into the mix is Mogbo.
looking forward to draft days. (two days this year)
I like Mogbo too, I think his workouts will decide his draft fate.
Mogbo didn’t even attempt a 3pt shot in his 2 years at USF, but he did shoot 36% in his JUCO year which gives me a little hope that the he could be more than just a hard-driving point-forward.
Looking forward to the draft and who Kings add via 13th pick . Trading or keeping just get longer and deeper .
Enjoying the podcast, although the navel-gazing about Monk starting or not was pretty intense. If you throw all of it into a bucket on one side, then look at the Kings’ defensive numbers with Ellis starting, the question easily resolves itself.
The only knock on Ellis as opposed to Monk at this point is that Keon doesn’t take enough shots.
Did like the thought from Jerry that whether Monk started or not should be getting more minutes relative to value . More like 32 instead of 26 . Best players = most minutes .
also brought up Manu Ginobli as an example.
A case can definitely be made for more minutes, but I would very much like to see improved handles, and fewer impossible-to-catch passes. Sabonis is like a first baseman, and if he can’t collect your pass to him, there was a problem with it.
I find these things, as I’m sure we all do, rather frustrating in real time.
