The Bee's borderline irresponsible headline says 'Artest sentenced 20 days in jail'.
But Artest won't spend another minute in jail. The judge stayed half the sentence and Artest is eligible for work-release for the rest. Artest will serve 'informal probation' for three years and has to do 100 hours of community service (which isn't a small amount) and take some anger management classes. The long-term restraining order keeping Artest from his family was also lifted today.
All of this only serves to make it still easier to trade Artest this summer, as all outstanding legal issues are taken care of. Nothing is keeping him in California.
