Keegan Murray Closing In On Season Debut

After a thumb surgery sidelined him before the season, Murray is reportedly making his season debut Thursday.

Update: 4:30 p.m.

Keegan Murray is expected to make his season debut on Thursday when the Sacramento Kings take on the Memphis Grizzlies.

From Earlier Article:

Sacramento Kings forward Keegan Murray has been assigned to the Stockton Kings as his return to the Kings inches closer. A thumb injury in October forced him into surgery before the season began.

Murray has been cleared for 5 on 5 contact and plans to join the Kings in Oklahoma City for the game against the Thunder Wednesday. He might return to the floor during the Kings road trip.

It was announced on October 12 that Murray had a torn ulnar collateral ligament of the left thumb that he would have surgery on to fix. He was expected to miss 4-6 weeks. Nov. 23 will be the six-week mark.

The Kings, of course, desperately need him back as they don’t have a lot of depth in the front court.

Hurry back to the unintentional tank, Keegan! Hopefully there are a few shots available for you in the games.

Domantas Sabonis (left knee soreness) and Keegan Murray (thumb) are both listed as OUT on the NBA’s injury report for tomorrow’s Kings/Thunder matchup.

Good. No reason to play a banged up Sabonis in a game that is damn near a lock for a loss. Let that dude rest.

Don’t rush it Keegan. As much as I want you back on the floor nothing can save us this season.

Like how they rushed Domas back while he clearly has a rib issue? Seems like desperation to try and save the season.

I respect that Domas really makes an effort to get out and play and brings it most nights

He gets hit in the face and head so much. The Kings may become the first NBA team with a blue tent behind their bench.

I think Domas wants to play, and the team/training staff is holding him out.

Domas played with that broken thumb for almost 3/4 of the 22-23 season. He is a workhorse.

I’ll start by saying I don’t really want Ja on this team. We don’t need a headcase. But, I’d do this trade from Fadeaway World. Which of course means Memphis would probably say no.

Sacramento Kings Receive: Ja Morant, John Konchar

Memphis Grizzlies Receive: DeMar DeRozan, Malik Monk, 2027 first-round pick (SAS)

Swap Monk for Deebo, and you got a deal!

Not a big fan cause of his attitude and off court stuff….maybe DC & Russ could get into his head and lead him on the right path.

Ok Tank Commanders. 3 Odd Trades because why not.

#1 Kings trade Sabonis/Ellis/Carter to Pacers for Toppin/McConnel/Nembhard a pick swap FRP this year unprotected and another FRP later.

Pacers risk losing a potentially great pick (or really just moving down potentially) but next year walk back with Siakam, Sabonis, Hali and a short runway to another finals.

#2 Kings Trade DDR and Monk to Philly for PG, McCain and 2 FRPs.

It allows them to believe that they can still do something with Embiid, get out of PG’s contract, and Vivek gets a new celeb crush while PG comes back to CA. It’s a win for everyone but the Kings win totals!

#3 Kings trade Lavine/Schroder/WB and a pair of 2RPs to Memphis for Ja/Jerome/Landale.

Ja goes from one toxic situation to another. Jerome is intriuging and Memphis gets financial help a year earlier and an offensive punch in Lavine that Ja is no longer offering.

This would put the Kings roster as:

Ja/McCain/McConnell
Nembhard/Jerome
Keegan/Nique
PG/Toppin/Precious
Eubanks/Max/Landale

This is not a good team. It’s not even a better team. But it is a different team, and watching Ja and PG would have to help the hate/watch experience for Kings fans into that sort of thing.

And it at least seems to make a little more sense to have a team with wings, guards and a center as the weak spot rather than a Center (undersized), too many guards, and a single Wing plus Russ.

That would be different.

But if I read that correctly we get 2 future Philly 1sts and 2 shots at a top pick in the 26 draft(the best of ours and Indy’s).

I’d do it.

Let PG and Ja redeem themselves this season and move them in the offseason.

PG to the Clips for SGA2.0 and Ja to NOP for an unprotected first and prospects because Dumars!

Kris. He gets to hang with inflatable frogs, while Keegan works for a toad.
