Kings defeat Bucks 135-133

They pulled it off
By | 130 Comments | Nov 1, 2025

Update

The Sacramento Kings defeated the Bucks in Milwaukee Saturday 135-133. And not only did they win, but they did it in a way they typically don’t: through physicality. The Kings got to the free throw line 40 times (87%) compared to the Bucks 31 attempts (64%). And they actually won the offensive rebounding category 11-9 and rebounds overall 38-37. They also shared the ball on way to 30 assists and only 10 turnovers. They also won points in the paint 60-50 against a team that has Giannis Antetokounmpo.

So this was a good win, especially considering the game began with them being in a 15-2 deficit.

Zach LaVine finished with 31 points, DeMar DeRozan chipped in 29 points and Domantas Sabonis and Dennis Schroder both had well-rounded games, finishing with 13 assists between the two of them. And Russell Westbrook added 12 points, 10 assists and 5 rebounds.

From Earlier Preview:

The Sacramento Kings are in Milwaukee today to face the Bucks after a couple of nights off. Will some rest provide a boost for the geriatric Kings? (Father) time will tell.

Who: Sacramento Kings (1-4) vs. Milwaukee Bucks (4-1)
Where: Fiserv Forum, Milwaukee, WI
When: 2:00 PM PT, 5:00 PM ET
Watch: NBCSCA, League Pass

The short Kings will need a minor miracle to defeat the large Bucks, and they just might get one. Giannis Antetokounmpo is listed as questionable (knee), and Milwaukee is obviously a much different team without him. Kevin Porter Jr. is also out with a right knee issue.

Sacramento’s injury report continues to be very lengthy. Keegan Murray is still out (thumb), Malik Monk is out (personal reasons), and Nique Clifford is questionable (hamstring).

I want to take a minute here to talk about Ryan Rollins. Who is Ryan Rollins? He’s Milwaukee’s 23 year old point guard averaging 18.6 points and 5.0 assists on 53% shooting from the field, and 44% shooting from three. He’s started 4/5 games for the Bucks, and having an incredible year. Do you want to know something else? He was an unrestricted free agent this summer for over a month before returning to the Bucks on a 3-year, $12M deal.

Imagine if the Kings had prioritized youth and rebuilding in free agency over veterans and misguided attempts to win now. Oh well, more Schroder and Westbrook for us.

Prediction: Kings 116, Bucks 111.

Never in my 25 years of being a diehard Kings fan have I ever started rooting for losses with more than 20 games left in the season but this year I started on day 1. Let the inadvertent take roll on today! This owner doesn’t deserve wins.

Clam down dude we are a few games in. It is not like we are getting crushed. A few play go different and our record could be flipped. I known it ia posh to hate on the Kings now, but I have seen some heart.

There is a non-zero chance that the Kings leave Milwaukee today without a currently rostered King or two and instead have a former Buck or two joining them. I just feel these two teams are just destined to make a trade this season.

In the last of our games for this week,
Still don’t know if we’ll face the Freak.
The team from Cream City
Will offer no pity
To save us from Vivek’s loss streak!

Yup. I was going to post something similar about Tre Jones, who signed with the Bulls on a 3 year $24M deal. He’s currently averaging 11 and 6 while shooting 62% from 3 and is one of the league leaders in steals on the 5-0 Bulls.

There were a few cheap and young PGs the Kings could have chased but instead chose to go with an older and more expensive Dennis with Westbrook as icing on the top.

It will be laughably embarassing/on par with this organization if they end up cutting ties with Schroder before this season is over after making his signing such a big deal.

If he were on a reasonable contract, sure. No one is trading for Schroeder at 15 mil a season and its ridiculous the Kings gave it to him. There wasn’t one other team looking to give him a significant role much less a payday near the one Perry gave him.

No one understands the concept of a drive and kick. Sabonis, Westbrook, Schroeder, Demar, all love driving into crowds of 3 guys and then letting themselves get blocked instead of making one of the several open passes to the perimeter.

Russ could be so important to this team. He leads by example, always gives 110%, buys in completely, and is willing to do anything and everything to help his team. I think his toughness and experience brings a lot to the locker room, especially with the younger guys, and adds a general swagger when he’s on the court. And on the vet minimum? He’s a truly incredible value.

The only problem is it makes the Schroder signing that much dumber. You sign Russ to a minimum deal, hell, maybe even more that minimum, for a single year right at the start of FA and do something else with the money rather than bring in another guard? But what do I know…

Agreed. To have one and not the other would be fine. But to have Westbrook and Dennis to go along with Monk, Keon, Carter, and Nique is just nonsense when you have no bigs.

I would have been fine with Westbrook on a one year deal and not have singed Dennis. His contract could have gone to a legit 3/4 bench player…AND there would have been no need to trade JV, bring in Saric and sign Eubanks.

Just haphazard roster building by Perry.

It’s like Perry expected it would be easy to move Monk for Kuminga, then he could sign Russ. That dragged out for months, Monk stayed, so he signed Russ anyway. Just a weird offseason.

I’ll add, likely a smart play by Russ. Giannis was the biggest threat crashing the boards. Had the foul been called, Giannis would have had to make both just to tie the game. Had Giannis crashed the boards and got an and-1 he would have had a chance to win it.

This just shows Doc Rivers inability to adjust on the fly. Im no coach, but i clearly saw the Kings target Green on switches and he’d end up defending Domas on the post, or getting iso’d by DDR. You have Myles and Giannis watching below, why would they have Giannis switch with Green? Its not like Domas and DDR have a quick first step!

Anyway, i was waiting for the meltdown until the final buzzer. Even my son said that maybe the scores were wrong LOL

I feel like there were a bunch of guys mentioned here and on the socials that folks thought would be good at PG. I liked the idea of one of the Jones bothers on a stop gap deal. Ty Jerome’s name came up, as did DeAngelo Russell and even Ben Simmons. There was talk of trading for a guy like Collin Sexton or Cole Anthony. There were even some who thought Westbrook could fill in fine for a year.

What I can recall is that no one, and I mean no one, thought the Kings should sign Schröder AND Westbrook.

I swear, some of you are just battered and need to take a break. The Kings have been playing with heart. If they suck some of you will have your wish anyways. Kings fan are so toxic. Best fans my ass, a bunch of babies is all I see.

You make some very fair points . Seems that often it’s fans with zero financial skin in the game that are the most critical . Bucks game was fun to watch and a great win .

Don’t we all have some financial skin in the game? Unless you are watching an illegal stream for every game, you are paying to watch the games via subscription or cable, which ends up in the franchise’s hands. It may not be the same as attending the games, but NBA’s largest revenue source is media rights.

Please help me remind which successes we have been able to celebrate as fans of this franchise, the last 15 season, give and take?

And also please explain me what places this third-oldest roster is going this season, or next?

We have not had much, but in our entire existence we really have not had much. So I am not sure why some of you just cry so much. Fans just use to be better. They could appreciate some of the good or the hardwork. Although, it seems to be something with society these days. We are old, but it is not like we don’t know what the plan is. See what we can manage if we can string something together then ok, and move dudes are we are able to. We know that trying to move some pieces now, is either impossible or just dumb because of what we will get for them. We had a decent draft, and if we suck, the tank will get started one way or another.

Y’all want the tank, but seem to forget rebuilds have not exactly gone well. We are watchable, and they play with heart, some fans use to appreciate. Do I want to win, hell ya? But I am not going to cry about, I know we have some time to fix our issues or fully rebuild.

Can a guy like Zack get a little love, and people just stop worrying about the contract. We not moving him any time soon, so why keep crying about it.

If we somehow bring it together some will be crying about that.

Yo. Don’t tell fans how to fan.

Folks can celebrate if they want, complain if they want, or land anywhere on the spectrum in between if they want. Just don’t tell them where they should be and call them out for it because it makes you look like the baby.

I am sorry, but pointing out cry babies is an observation. Saying some may want to take a break, is advice. Don’t tell me to do, lol. Put you hand up, start waving it around, get your best whiny valley Karen voice going, and read what y’all post. We won and played with heart and people still are crying. I am surprised I still don’t hear things about Luka or IT.

Shoot, this year my wife died, I lost my job, and I let my neighbor drive my other car, who then wrecked it ,and I have a more positive attitude than many here. I get it, we vent, I do as well. Personally, I take breaks from the comments here, because of how toxic many have become over the years. I use to post more here and over on Sac town, but when some just could not let go of things like IT, I figured I have better things to do with my time.

People can do what they want, but a little self reflection does not hurt either. And I am sorry, but calling out some grown men for being a cry babies does not make me one. If I posted here every day saying the same old tired stuff, sure. People can post whatever they want, but a reality check does not hurt every once in a while.

In my daily life, I cry everyday since my wife has past, but I also try to find some hope, because constant negativity can be destructive. My position on people’s negativity is not new. I just expect more from Kings fans. Ya, we are in limbo, but it is not like we don’t know what the deal is.

My wife loved the Kings and it is something we shared. She was a classic fan, she loved the lunch pale players, and would be so mad when her favorites were traded. Sure she would be down when we lost or sucked but she did not whine about it. To me it is just how many times can whine about the same thing, when we all know the most likely timeline.

You’ve clearly never been to the Raiders SBN site. These same Kings fans created a whole ass site for us to come bitch and complain freely, cheer, cry, laugh, make fun of Rob not wearing pants, and everything in between. We’ve had 1 winning season in 2 decades and I’m guessing you weren’t here for the beam team season where it felt like we all won the lottery. We’re sick of the owner and his shenanigans and that makes us toxic? You’re free to go hop back on the warriors or lakers bandwagons. Us big babies will stay here and fan how we choose to fan for the team we’ve invested years into

I have been a Kings fan since they moved here. My wife and I’s third date was game game was game 6 of the Lakers. We watched with 30 friends crammed into an apartment. Looking back, it was terrible and wonderful, now that was something to whine about. What makes it toxic, is coming here and hearing the same moaning over and over again. Ya we can’t change our owner. I will always be thankful that the mayor, Stern, and Randy saved the Kings. Had they moved, I would have still been a Kings fan.

I watch the love song video every year and post it to socials at the start of each year. If I wanted to mess with her I would play the Tesla video, and she would cry each time. I cry to now, that she has passed. I bleed purple. I can count on my hands the games that I have missed in my adult life. During the CWeb days before Bluetooth I had to work during some games. I bought a pocket radio and would feed the wire down my shirt looking like some FBI agent.

My ass was so nuts I would would answer the phone like Jerry Senfiel, I have not watched the game please don’t says anything then pull the phone away. I have been a grown ass man running out of a room covering my ears going La la la like a five year old, because the game was recorded at home. I worked at place that had tvs on with the game, but because I wanted to see the game in full I would manage to work a shift with out looking up at them, well most of the time. I am a fanatic in the true sence of the word. So, yes, I am no fair weather fan.

I am sure many here are the same, and I get the disgust. My point is over the years it just seems like many Kings have became so jaded, and I get that as well. It is just somethings we can not change, so to every day whine about it just gets old. People can fan how they want, I just wish we could get back some of that which we were know for. I started getting turned off from being a daily poster and visitor when 3 years later, people where still complaining about IT and Luka.

My point with my post is that I just expect more from Kings fans, and perhaps taking a small beather could help some people psyche, since some just come off so miserable. It is not like we are losing 70 games a year. We drafted well, and we are in limbo for a bit. People care more about Zacks contract than the fact he has been balling out. To each their own, I just expect some optimistism from die hard Kings fans. Sure that optimistsm has been, and will be misplaced at times, but many here were moaning for half of the beam year too. Like I said, I just expect more from us.

Adamsite is Spot on.

These community members want a winning franchise, and one playoff appearance in 20 seasons makes this the worst franchise in professional sports.

And yet, here we are hoping for some sorta fantasy of a better and brighter future. We have varying ideas as to the path to get there. How is that?

A win is appreciated, and a positive step. Nice win! And how about Domas, Dennis, DeMar and Zach Lavine with the D. I am savoring the Westbrook minutes. Good Russ is very good.

However, If want to say it is a temporary breath of fresh air while I sit in a sewer, than I bloody well will. That is why this community exists- to voice Fandom – be it happy or sad, happy or mad. The only rules are to follow site decorum. I’m gonna break that rule.

Calling us babies? With all due respect. Fuck Off.

I won’t write a novel, because I already did with the posts above so you can refer to those reploes, but yes, some here have became crybabies. Even when something good happens they are miserable. We make an end of the bench trade that is a positive, or one that any other team would be like, oh, I see how that can help. Then we freak out because it is not some block buster. I get it, it has been rough. I just expect better from Kings fans. It is hard beening a fan when we are terrible, but even when we are ok, and working to something people are still crying. During the beam year, many were still super negative for half of the year. It took till mid season of that year to finally let go of IT. It is just some have become so jaded they are almost never happy.

The Kings have only had a few good years really some acceptance is needed. I just long for us being the pathic optimists that we were. I get the negativity to a point, but when you stop being able to find the good it is disappointing. I expect more from what once was the greatest fan base. I am not sure we can call ourselves that these days, I just hope we can find it because it was special.

Again losing sucks, but so does becoming jaded, not ever seeing the light. I wish you well.

You know, I was really hoping a dumb troll who doesn’t know anything about the Kings would show up for 2 minutes, drop a stupid comment and then leave. After 20 straight years of watching this team fail in every conceivable way, I see now that if I just cheer their failures, then you’ll be happy, because after all, isn’t that why we’re all here? To satisfy your dumb opinions?

Just read some of these posts in your best Karen voice and tell me they are not jaded. To some extent I get, I just expect better of us is all.

I don’t remember no heart, but they have been in or gotten back in most games games this season. The Kings have been flying around diving, and trying. The roster will change and hopefully people will become less jaded.

Westbrook played great, didn’t shoot great, but brought the physicality. Wrapped up Gannis and didn’t let him get a shot up on one possession that I saw in the recap. The normal kang thing to do would be to foul and still let the guy get the bucket.
Great game Kings.

RB doesnt need to score at this point of his career. I just want him to fire up the players, box out and rebound, assist, and get into the heads of opposing teams.

Ugh, the vets played 35+ minutes this game! They might get gassed out by the 3td Q in Denver this monday. This is where the youth development is sorely lacking, Vivek you twat. If DC has to play these high mileage players a lot of mins, he risks injuries to them and whatever trade value they might still have.

Also, i finally saw a play that the Kings ran that made use of their personnel. Schroeder gets a screen, drops to DDR who drives and attracts two defenders going to the ring, then DDR swings the ball to Lavine who is now wide open on the wing for a 3. Swish!

TKH is trying to prove a point that this is how slow the Kings get into their offense once DDR starts pounding the ball LOL

LOL indeed. Wouldn’t it be great if, instead of a spinning icon signifying that your computer is rebooting, we got a video of DDR dribbling the ball as he backs down his opponent. Endless dribbling.
