What games are you most looking forward to this season?

I can’t remember ever being less excited for a season than I am for this season. Without another major move I don’t see how this team will be even remotely watchable. It’s a shockingly ill fitting group of players.
Even watching a train wreck for so long gets tiring.
It really does.
Ugh. And for some reason I continued with my half season tickets. I guess it’s entertaining to watch a train wreck.
Think they have potential to get 45-47 wins still, if they’re healthy and clean up during that last 20 gm stretch from Mar. 3 – Apr.12.
Perry should’ve done more to balance the roster, needed bigger, athletic guys or at least should’ve tried to get some more defenders and 3 pt shooters. Needed to do that but instead get a guy like Shroeder who doesn’t have any of those 3 qualities. Demar, Zach, Monk…too much O, not enough defense.
I’ve would’ve been trying harder to move DeRo, even if I had to attach a 1st. Use the ’27 Spurs 1st, probably won’t be a high pick anyway, or the ’31 Minny pick.
And please pass on Russ, are we trying to be right up there with GS…one of the oldest teams in the L?
Light the Beam!

Undefeated!
Drink the Beam!

I too can not recall being less excited for a kings team. On paper they are the same but worse from one season ago. The sales pitch by local media lately is pretty annoying I have to say.
Will I watch? Yeah, some. I guess. The starting 5 is worse. Fox over Schroeder. That’s a no brainer and no shade on Schroeder. The depth by positional fit is significantly worse. That is what reality is telling me even with my very real and very purple shaded glasses strapped on tight.
what is there to be optimistic about? What is there to be excited about? Less drama with less talent and this team will be better! Ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm…
that’s the sales pitch? Yikes
this is how bad it is, I’d be more excited if they declared Isaac Jones will be the kings starting 4 and get 25 minutes a night and bring Monk, Ellis, Demar,Clifford Max off the bench as the 10 man rotation. Side note on that oddly odd optimistic energy and it quickly gets a “”Really?!” Heavy sprinkle of reality regarding Carter. In that scenario there’s ZERO minutes at all for Devin Carter. Which means we have a young guy who should have gone top 10 in a draft if his injuries didn’t mess that up in an ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE developmental situation. Basically evaporating that draft pick into nothing because of roster planning.
There’s a wall over here. I’m going to bash my head into it and maybe comment in tomorrows Kings Herald piece. .
I’m surprised to see the Kings have nine games on national TV. I don’t think they got close to that last season.
They’ve gotten worse for 3 straight years but continue to get televised games. Profit!
My reaction as well. Was expecting 2-3. After how bad we’re going to be, I’m guessing 2-3 will be for ’26-27 season
I would agree with that. I think they’re going to be really bad AND unwatchable this year. Clogged toilet offense mixed with zero defense. It will be fun to see how many guys have absurd scoring nights against us this year.
Think it’s more due to teams we are playing and their stars .
41 at home, 41 on the road. Don’t mean shit as long as there continues to be 41 in the L column.
The sad part for fans is that the “youth” on this team isn’t necessarily young for the NBA, and that “star potential” isn’t there for the young guys. At least if the season is to be filled with an abundance of losses, we would have those young guys to look at for the future.
But this team is going to be older by NBA standards, and not very good. I foresee many moral victories this season, maybe more than actual victories.
Yup. Should Kuminga be acquired he’d be the second youngest on the team. He is just 6 months older than rookie Maxime Raynaud, who is currently the youngest on the team. Kuminga is 6 months younger than Nique.
I’m taking the under for once. Other teams have improved and the Kings are worse. I have them at 33 wins this year.
Sam here. Usually betting the over on the Kings has been profitable because they were always undervalued a little bit. This year though? I think this team is winning in the 20’s. I truly think this is a unique recipe for disaster unless something totally unexpected happens.
In looking closer at the schedule, I just wanted to point out that things could spiral early in the season. Games 3 through 18 are brutal being bookmarked in between PHX and Utah games. I’m guessing they may win a few of those games due to injuries, the other team’s schedule or luck, but on paper it’s gonna be bad. The first 20 games are almost a lock for a losing record. My quick prediction:
@PHX – W
vs Utah – W
vs Lakers – L
@OKC – L
@Chicago (SEGABABA) – L
@Bucks – L
@Denver – L
vs Dubs – L
vs OKC – L
vs Minny -L
vs Nuggets – L
vs ATL (SEGABABA) – L
@Minny – L
@Spurs – L
@OKC – L
@Grizz (SEGABAB) -L
@Nuggets – L
vs Minny – L
vs PHX -W
@Utah -W
3 games each against OKC, Denver, and Minny??!! Hahaha…good luck. This team may start out 4-16 for the first quarter of the season.
IT’S NOT HOW YOU START THE SEASON, IT’S HOW YOU E- sorry, I can’t do this anymore.
I more or less am hoping this team totally implodes and every player publicly requests a trade. I’ll sure as bball hell won’t lose many nights sleep watching them, if at all.
I kid you not, the talking heads who tow the company line will be telling us all how the end of the season has a “winnable” stretch for a playoff push. I could see the Kings being over 10 games below .500 around the deadline, but we get told how the team is starting to “gel” after implementing the new comers (just Schröder) and how Christie’s “new system” is starting to click.
Aaaaaaand action!
Kayte come March: “What Kings fans don’t understand is Sacramento have some very winnable games coming up. They have a very strong chance leap-frogging the Blazers at the 11th seed and catching the Spurs for final play-in spot at the 10th seed!
Mark:”The Kings are going to put San Antonio in the friend zone. Being back 7 games with 20 to go is not a phantasmagorical task, especially when you have a true King on your roster. Malik means King in Arabic.”
Cut! End scene.
All said over the course of multiple possessions of game action.
Publicly call out the owner too. Make some noise about him, maybe something will change. The dismissive little chap has a huge ego, and that would be a hit to his ego.
Funny that Ranadingdong wants the team in “win now” mode. Maybe he’s been saying “winnow” mode all these years and his GMs have just been misinterpreting?
Might be a massive blessing in disguise, the only way to get this team to actually tank in a meaningful way.
Because this feels like a situation where the team struggling out of the gates is going to demoralize them quite a bit on the heels of last season and the Fox trade and everything that did/didn’t happen, and once they’re in that situation it’s going to be hard to have the motivation to pick up the pace and win more than 25-30 games.
Good. 4-16 finally indicates they get a better 1st round pick. I would be ecstatic and it would also indicate that Demar, Sabonis, and Monk are moved. This team needs to get younger and have more cap space, on top of picks. Winning games right now hurts this franchise, justifies the atrocious ticket prices and tenure of Vivek.
Also, I think they start 3-17. Suns are better. They could scrap a W against Hawks.
I guess I’m looking forward to the nationally televised games because those are probably the only ones I’ll see this season.
I’m real down on the team and comcast slid csn into their premium package. $45/month increase to my cable bill for kangz only because I don’t care about any of the other garbage in the premium package. This team isn’t worth $45/month to watch play. Will be my first season in about 20 years where I won’t have televised access, and I really don’t care, like, at all.
OT: This struck me as a bit odd. Yes it lowers Miami’s tax bill, but that’s kind of irrelevant right now. Teams don’t get taxed until the end of the season. Highsmith is also no scrub. He was a key bench player for Miami who average over 24 MPG and shot 38% from 3 and started in 42 games. He’s also no slouch on defense.
What the move does do, is open up a roster spot (Miami now just has 13 rostered players) and it freed up money for possibly something larger. Put me in the camp that thinks Miami isn’t done. Could there be fire to the DDR rumor smoke?
Highsmith also sustained a meniscus injury and is out for a good chunk of the season.
Not true. He’s due back before the start of the season. After his surgery he was listed as out for 8-10 weeks.
I forget that the season is like still 8 weeks away, lol. Yeah, he will be back relatively early in the season.
My least favorite Kangz team of all time was the one with DMC, Ty Lawson, Darren Collison, Matt Barnes (?), and Rajon Rondo–a collection of punks, whiners, and assholes who couldn’t sniff 40 wins if you poured all 82 games onto a mirror and provided a credit card and a rolled-up dollar bill (not that they wouldn’t have tried). This team may be my 2nd-least favorite. It is thankfully free of DUIers and domestic violence-ers, but its roster is completely uninspired. There is no direction, no vision, and no hope. I canceled my League Pass subscription to save my money and time. I’ll check the scores and commentary here at TKH occasionally, but that’s it.
I’ll be surprised if they win 20 games. In the West only the Jazz are worse. Hornets and Wizards are worse in the East. Kings are a Bottom 5 team.
i think the Pels will be better than people think. If Zion is healthy. Blazers will be better. Suns offense will be better and they brought in enforcer Dylan. Spurs will make a big jump. The top 6 in the West aren’t moving.
They will be unloading all the vets by the trade deadline. Lavine, Demar, Monk maybe Sabonis
