Are we still glazing Hali after his 4 point explosion?
Rise to superstardom out on hold.
There’s always going to be varied opinions on Hali, as there is on any player. The truth is, however, he’s accomplished more in the 3 years as an ex-King than any anyone who has worn a Kings jersey in the past 20 years. Would anyone here not want him playing for Sac? The last player to even approach what he has accomplished after leaving town was Isaiah Thomas.
Well said.
I’d take Hali back in exchange for Domas in a heartbeat.
Some teams try to acquire winning players but the Kangz look to acquire career losers (Lavine, DDR, Sabonis).
Hali would be a “career loser” had the Kings not traded him.
Credit to the Pacers, as their build around Hali has been so superior to the Kings build around Sabonis / Fox. Siakam alone moved them up one level. When one team adds Siakam while the other adds DDR, well, the results are going to be the results.
And 1 – Sabonis was having a fine season until Fox was dealt. I think the “career loser” tag belongs to the org., not Domas.
100%. I still believe a very good team can be built around Sabonis with competent leadership. The Kings, mainly Vivek, have simply done the ass backwards version of this.
If we swapped the entire supporting cast in Denver with the entire supporting cast in Sacramento we’d be watching Kings playoff basketball and Denver fans would be visiting tankathon on a daily basis.
SacNuggzLOL
I prefer the term NuggetSac, thank you very much.
Didn’t The B52’s sing about the NugSac?
And 1 – playing in the east helps a ton
100%
pacers started there success once they got siakim. Hali is a good player, definitely not a 1a type dude, not even close
If you don’t think him playing in the east doesn’t have a lot to do with it i don’t know what to tell ya.
It’s a shitty reality but it’s what is true
Have to do with what? He’s on the cusp of leading his team to the ECF for the second straight season and it’s…no big deal?
No offense, but I’m sensing some sour grapes. IMO, Hali is a top flight PG in this league. I’d take him over Ja, Fox, Garland, Trae, and others. Is he Steph, Brunson, Kyrie…no, but he’s an All-NBA type PG.
Hali’s a max contract guy. /Full stop.
sure in todays world, but so it everyone that can score 20 ppg at this point in the nba. I think paying Hali max will not be good in the future for any team.
nah, no sour grapes, I think Sabonis is better than Hali and it’s not that close, Kings just don’t build around team concepts well.
Getting to the ECF no where near as difficult as the WCF. That’s what it has to do with.
Pascal is their 1A, no debate.
This comment aged well.
Jeebus….did not see Indiana leading Cleveland by over 40 points in the 3rd quarter.
Lottery Day Today!
4 PM (16:00) PST today for some additional PTSD.
The Kings are in the 13th slot. However, as they won a coin toss to be at 13, moving Atlanta to 14, the odds are slightly different.
The 13th slot has a 1.0% chance of winning the #1 overall pick and 14th is 0.5%. As the Kings and Hawks tied, Sacramento has an 0.8% chance and Atlanta a 0.7% chance for this drawing.
For jumping into the Top 4, the odds are slightly different. This year’s 13th spot, for Sacramento, has a 3.8% chance and Atlanta at 14, has a 3.4% chance.
As enticing as these odds seem to many of the hopeful, that Sacramento has a 96.2% chance of losing the pick is the more salient point. By losing, or by winning, depending on your perspective, with their final regular season record, Sacramento did what Sacramento does, and Kangzed the owed pick to the Hawks by neither losing enough to finish 12th (like Phoenix and Dallas), nor by winning a playoff spot (man, that 2nd quarter vs. Dallas was an embarrassing No Show).
Light that Lottery Beam! Go Kings!
Kings land #1 pick, trade it to the Bulls for Ball & their pick.
We didn’t want to take the ball out of Sabonis’ hands
I mean, that is a two for one deal and the Kings do need a PG. Profit!
The article about today’s lottery lists the Kings’ representative as:
Monte and Wes are still listed as front office staff on the Kings home page along with all the assistants that have been fired: https://www.nba.com/kings/contact-us
Poverty franchise.
Keon going to swipe a top 4 pick
Let’s hope he gets the 1st pick!
He’ll sit on the dais for 8 min. before being pulled for Devin Carter.
