Chris Jent has agreed to become Michael Malone's lead assistant coach with the Sacramento Kings, according to The Bee. Previous reports had suggested a three-year deal for Jent, which is the same length of that of Malone's contract. Jent was an assistant with Ohio State. He's previously worked as an assistant coach for the Orlando Magic and with Malone for the Cleveland Cavaliers. During his time in C-Town, Jent worked closely with LeBron James on shooting mechanics. Here's a 2009 story from the Columbus Dispatch on how that happened.
A few other coaching rumors continue to float around. Roy Rogers, a Pistons assistant who worked closely with Andre Drummond last year, is said to be under consideration. One assumes that because Jent will be the lead assistant, Patrick Ewing is out.
