The search for a new Sacramento Kings General Manager has come to an end.

Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports reports that the Kings have reached an agreement to hire Denver's Assistant GM, Pete D'Alessandro. D'Alessandro will be the first new Kings GM since Geoff Petrie took the reins in 1994. He spent the last couple years working under last year's Executive of the Year Masai Ujiri.

The Kings may not be done filling out the rest of their front office leadership however. Previous reports indicated that the Kings might opt to go for the two-tier management structure that has seen success in Golden State and Indiana, with a President of Basketball Operations working with a General Manager.

The other people connected to the Kings Front Office opening throughout this process include Chris Wallace, Larry Bird, Rick Sund, Scott Layden, Mike Dunleavy, Travis Schlenk, David Morway, Chris Mullin, and Kenny Smith. Perhaps one of them (or someone not on the list) will still be hired to fill that second role.

D'Alessandro will need to get integrated with the team quickly as the NBA Draft is coming up in less than two weeks and Free Agency shortly after. For more on D'Alessandro, check out this article on him from the NSU Law Center.

UPDATE 2:30 P.M.:

Ken Berger of CBSSports reports that the Kings have not ruled out adding a team president or consultant to work with D'Alessandro. Chris Wallace is the current leading candidate for that position if the team does go that route. Berger also notes that D'Alessandro and Kings Coach Mike Malone already have close ties due to their time together in Golden State.
