Final Score: Kings Lose to Pacers in Double OT, 106-98

The Kings offense sputtered late once again and Indiana ran away with the victory in Double Overtime.

Despite a great defensive effort, the Kings were not able to outlast the Indiana Pacers in Double Overtime, and lost 106-98. Marcus Thornton led all scorers with 26 points, including two huge threes to help send the Kings into Overtime and then Double Overtime. Alas the Kings simply could not get it going offensively in either OT period, managing just 7 total points in extra time. Offense was a problem the entire night for Sacramento, as they shot just 36.3% from the field. DeMarcus Cousins had 21 points, 13 rebounds, and 4 steals in 42 minutes, but shot just 9-27 from the field. Tyreke Evans almost had a double-double himself with 14 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 steals and 2 blocks in 44 minutes.

The Pacers saw incredibly well-rounded production from each of their starters, all of whom finished in double digits. George Hill and David West both finished with 18 points, Paul George had 16, Gerald Green 17 and Roy Hibbert had 12. The Pacers also had three starters with double digit rebounds, as Paul George (17), David West (18) and Roy Hibbert (10) combined for 45 rebounds. George Hill, another starter, had 8. Sacramento as a team had just 47 rebounds to 67 for Indiana.

Paul George was the clear star of the night for Indiana. In nearly 48 minutes of court time, he added 3 assists, 2 steals and 4 blocks to go with his 16 points and 17 rebounds. He was also singlehandedly responsible for stopping a myriad of Kings fast breaks.

The Kings outscored the Pacers by at least 6 points in three of the four regulation quarters but a terrible 2nd quarter saw the team fighting from behind after Indiana scored 38 points to just 18 for Sacramento. An even mediocre output in that quarter would have likely meant a Kings victory. The Kings will look to bounce back from their 0-3 opening road trip when they return home Monday to begin a three game homestand.

A longer recap will be up shortly. Use this as the Post-Game Depression thread.
