Also, Cole Aldrich might have killed a guy with a trident.
But this game was over almost before it began.
The bench also came in and played their part to perfection. Cole Aldrich saw quite a bit of time early thanks to a couple quick fouls on Jason Thompson and he made the most of it. Aldrich isn't and never will be an offensive force, but he moves well on the defensive end, attacks the boards on both ends of the floor and sets great picks. He finished with 6 points, 6 boards and a block.
Chuck Hayes had probably his best statistical game of the season, scoring 10 points to go with 8 rebounds for the near double-double.
Bench guards Jimmer Fredette, Toney Douglas and Marcus Thornton all had their moments as well. Douglas was a pest defensively and Jimmer and Marcus did a good job of scoring both inside and out. Those guards combined for 26 points, a balanced effort.
Perhaps the only Kings who did not have good games were John Salmons (5 points on 2-10 shooting) and Travis Outlaw (who saw just 5:43 of garbage time and did not make either of his attempts). The Kings as a whole played solid defense and held the Bulls to just 38.6% from the field. Carlos Boozer (21 points) and Nate Robinson (19 points) were the only Bulls to really do any damage. Marco Belinelli, who has hurt the Kings in the past, missed all 9 of his shots. Joakim Noah had just 6 points on 8 shots. His fellow All-Star, Luol Deng, scored just 10 on 12.
Sacramento did a particularly good job of taking care of the ball. In the first half, they committed just 1 turnover and finished with just 5 for the entire game. Their previous season-low was 9.
