Last year the Kings were having trouble getting any of the top picks in given their tenuous and precarious situation. Eventual pick Thomas Robinson never worked out for Sacramento.
This year, despite still not having a General Manager, the Kings have managed to bring in several big names already including Trey Burke, C.J. McCollum, and Michael Carter-Williams.
Tomorrow the Kings will bring in another big prospect in Shabazz Muhammad. Muhammad has had a bit of a fall from grace after being projected as one of the top picks in this years draft. For starters, his lone year at UCLA wasn't particularly great. He scored a lot, but did so inefficiently and didn't do much else. Then it was revealed that Muhammad and his parents had been lying about his age, making him 20 and not 19. A lot of the hype from Muhammad's high school years was how much more physically mature and talented he seemed than other kids his age, but given that he was actually a year older, it wasn't as surprising.
Still, he's got a lot of talent if it can be harnessed in the right way and the Kings do have a big hole at SF. Given that someone like Otto Porter is unlikely to fall, Muhammad is one of the few wing options that might make sense with the 7th pick.
Joining Muhammad in his workout tomorrow are:
Brandon Davies (BYU) 6'10, 242
Elias Harris (Gonzaga) 6'7, 220
Zeke Marshall (Akron) 7'0, 235
Trevor Mbakwe (Minnesota) 6'8, 236
Romero Osby (Oklahoma) 6'7, 230
