De’Aaron Fox will not play in tonight’s matchup as the Sacramento Kings visit the Los Angeles Clippers, sitting out with a lower back contusion after a hard fall on October 8th against the Lakers.

The injury shouldn’t be a concern for Kings fans. James Ham spoke to Fox after yesterday’s practice and Fox seems unconcerned by the injury.
Spoke to De’Aaron Fox following practice. He’s feeling a lot better. Said he played football and can play through injuries.

To me it sounds like Fox could probably play if the Kings needed him, or if this was a regular season game, but the Kings are resting him to make sure he’s 100% before the season begins.
I’m fine with the Kings taking a cautious approach in the preseason. If Fox isn’t 100% by opening night, I’d be fine with the team remaining cautious and letting Frank Mason III get some run. The Kings don’t need to jeopardize their future for games in October 2017.
This biggest backlash from Fox sitting out will probably be the unrelenting taunts of Clippers fans who believe Fox is avoiding a matchup against Milos Teodosic.
