After two days off, the Kings return to the hardwood tonight looking to get a road win in Phoenix against the Suns.
The Kings had an impressive opening night victory against the Portland Trail Blazers, but after that, the Kings lost two games where they were competitive through much of the game before falling apart at the end of the fourth quarter against the Utah Jazz and then the Golden State Warriors.
The Suns are off to a bit of a slow start this year just a couple of months after losing in The Finals to the Milwaukee Bucks. Phoenix lost on opening night against the Nuggets, bounced back with a convincing victory at home against the Lakers, and then got blown their last game against the Trail Blazers.
After finishing 6th in defensive rating last season, the Suns have struggled in that regard to start this season.
For the Kings, a big storyline to look for is how De’Aaron Fox performs after starting the season in somewhat of a funk. Another thing to watch for is the team’s late-game execution after the team has struggled in the final period in each of the first three games.
If Fox is able to have a bounce-back performance tonight then the Kings could be competitive and even potentially steal a game on the road against a tough Suns team.
