So far though, that has not been the case. The Kings have held six workouts to date, with the biggest names to come to town being Andre Drummond, Damian Lillard, John Henson, Tyler Zeller and Terrence Jones. None of those prospects worked out against each other or against other top prospects.
Today the Kings worked out Kyle Fogg, Robbie Hummel, Mike Scott, Devoe Joseph, Wesley Witherspoon, and Robert Sacre. Tomorrow, the Kings will work out Kim English, Bradford Burgess, Jorge Gutierrez, James Nunnally, Troy Gillenwater, and Dominique Ferguson. Of these players, only Scott and English are projected to be drafted.
Furthermore, Thomas Robinson, Bradley Beal, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist and Harrison Barnes have made no indication that they will come work out for Sacramento, despite the fact that it is very likely at least one of them will be drafted by the Kings, if current draft expectations hold.
So is this a case of the Kings not organizing better workouts or agents avoiding the Kings? I'd lean towards the latter. Funnily enough, I'm not all that upset about not being able to bring certain players in for workouts (a season or more of college basketball is probably a better indicator of future performance than an hour and a half workout), but it does worry me with regards to free agency, both in bringing in new players and keeping the current ones.
