This team is so, so fun.

Sacramento is now 3-0 on this homestand. They took care of the Atlanta Hawks, defeated the Philadelphia 76ers in a fun game, but then topped the fun with this win over the San Antonio Spurs. Marvin Bagley III made highlight plays that we’ll be watching for a long, long time. Yogi Ferrell was literally on fire and didn’t miss. De’Aaron Fox was 9-12 from the field as well. Sacramento is now three games above .500!

That was one heck of a first quarter by the Kings, as they ended the quarter up 37-25. The lead was higher than 12 though when it was 37-23. Sacramento was killing the Spurs with pace, outscoring them on the fast break at 20-0. Sacramento was also 7-11 from three while the Spurs were 2-9, both coming from Davis Bertans. DeMar DeRozan led the Spurs with nine points. Buddy Hield led the Kings with nine, Iman Shumpert scored eight on 3-3 shooting and Marvin Bagley had seven points off the bench. Everything going well for the Kings in the first.

While the Spurs outscored the Kings 34-26 and regained the lead late in the quarter, the Kings responded to close out the half up 63-59. A De’Aaron Fox buzzer beater gave the Kings the four-point advantage. DeRozan along with LaMarcus Aldridge were putting the Spurs on their back with each scoring 15 points. DeRozan was a solid 7-10 from two’s while Aldridge was 5-8. The pace didn’t favor the Kings in the quarter as they had zero points on the break. It didn’t help that Fox lost the ball on his way up for an easy two. Hield still led the Kings with 12 points, while Shumpert and Bagley added 11. Bagley also had five rebounds, two blocks and a steal in 14 first half minutes. Harry Giles added eight and Yogi Ferrell made two three’s en route to seven points.

This time the Kings outscored the Spurs 35-27 as they were hitting on all cylinders in the final minutes of the quarter. The Kings had another 14-point lead after Fox took it all the way for two points, only for Patty Mills to be cherry picking and got those two points back. The quarter closed 98-86 in favor of the Kings. Bagley and Giles are going to be a major problem and it’s so fun to watch. Bagley had 19 points and eight rebounds while Giles had 11 points and six rebounds. Fox had 18 points on 8-10 shooting along with six assists. Aldridge led San Antonio with 22 points.

Marvin Bagley was putting on an absolute show with a 360 alley-oop dunk and a one-handed putback dunk. Absolutely phenomenal game for him. Yogi Ferrell was also putting on a shooting clinic, making shot after shot. He didn’t miss tonight and got a standing ovation. The Kings are now 28-25 on the season!
