Kings help local families celebrate Thanksgiving

This time of year, the Sacramento Kings give back to the community frequently. This week, the team hosted a dinner at the practice facility for lower-income families. Players were there to dish out food and chat with visitors.

It's easy to be cynical about the NBA's charitable efforts, and especially so in Sacramento, where it often seems as if a certain clan uses their philanthropy to paper over their philandering. But the Kings really do some excellent work in the community, and this time of year is a perfect example. The video above is from the team's annual dinner for local families in need. The Kings put on a full Thanksgiving feast for lower-income families, with players and coaches dishing out the food and chatting up the visitors.

(This is also a gentle reminder that we're running a charity drive — Royal Jelly 2012 — right now, too. Hint hint.)
