Tyler Honeycutt Injured Yet Again, Out 3-4 Weeks

By | 0 Comments | Feb 21, 2019

Tyler Honeycutt continues to suffer a string of bad luck, as he was today diagnosed with a stress fracture in his right fibula during his physical. For those wondering, the Fibula is a leg bone located near the calf.

The injury will set him back 3-4 weeks, meaning he will miss all of training camp and most of pre-season. This is extremely unfortunate for the second-year wing, as this time of the year is great for development and earning playing time.

Honeycutt also missed crucial Summer League playing time due to another, unrelated injury. This latest injury could open the door for training camp invitee Tony Mitchell, who excelled during Summer League. The Kings are very high on Mitchell, and if he has a good camp, he could end up replacing Honeycutt on the final roster. Honeycutt's deal is guaranteed for this season, but it is a cheap contract. Cowbell Kingdom's Jonathan Santiago reported last month that the team was still unsure on Honeycutt. These untimely injuries won't help him, even though they occurred through no fault of his own. Here's hoping for a speedy recovery.
