Kings Recall Tyler Honeycutt from Reno Bighorns

Honeycutt returns to Sacramento after a one-month stint in the NBA D-League

The Sacramento Kings today announced that they have recalled sophomore forward Tyler Honeycutt from their D-League affiliate, the Reno Bighorns. Tyler was originally assigned to Reno on November 8th, and has averaged 10.9 points (.462 FG%, .357 3P%, .786 FT%), 9.6 rebounds, 1.4 assists, 2.3 steals, 1.7 blocks in 31.7 minutes per game over 7 games.

Honeycutt's return to the Kings roster may be a sign that Tyreke Evans will be sitting for an extended period. Evans has missed four games recently due to a sore left knee, and left Sunday's game against Denver after the first quarter as his knee acted up once more. No word has been given on Evans' condition as of yet or his availability for tonight's game in Phoenix. He did take an MRI last week that came up negative for a fracture or tear.

Of Sacramento's three rookies from last year, Honeycutt is the only one who hasn't seen significant playing time yet. He played just 88 minutes over 15 games last year. He does play Sacramento's weakest position, so perhaps he'll get a chance to shine this year.
