The United States thumped Slovenia early this morning, and Sactown's Brad Miller finally got on the scoreboard with 8 points on 2 of 4 shooting from the floor and 4 for 4 from the line.
The US is now assured a spot in the knockout round. But before that, there's a fairly big game against Group D co-leader Italy tomorrow morning. Italy is undefeated at 3-0 as well, and is almost certainly Team USA's best opponent in prelim play.
Having Mike D'Antoni on the sideline should help, as he knows many of those players and their style of play. This is where the US team's depth comes into play, as Mike Krzyzewski can essentially throw wave after wave at the Italians without losing tons of quality. Brad Miller has shot right around 70 percent in international play, and he's barely getting any burn. If Coach K needs more firepower, it's there.
