After helping a tired and loafing Dallas Mavericks team on Saturday night to a much needed win, the Kings continue their Goodwill Tour through the worst in the league tonight and in their contest against the Chicago Bulls will hope to lift the spirits of all those fans, players and coaches affected by their current six game losing streak. It won’t be easy for the Kings however, as rookie stud Lauri Markkanen is missing the game due to weather cancelling his flight to Sacramento and sophomore point guard Kris Dunn is out with a concussion and a couple of broken Chiclets after a nasty fall. Never fear though Chicago fans, if there is one team in this league dead set on breaking up that pesky losing streak and giving you a W, it’s the Sacramento Kings.

Win or (Chica)go home: Tonight’s game against the Chicago Bulls pits two young, struggling teams who moved on from their attempts at mediocrity by trading their All-Star talent last season for young guards and picks. For the Bulls, mediocrity meant a 41-41 record and an 8th seed in the playoffs so don’t start pitying them and their terrible management just yet. The Bulls so far have played to expectation. They dropped ten in a row at one point earlier this season, then followed it up with seven straight wins. They’re a bad team, just like the Kings. They’re 29th in offensive rating to the Kings 30th (more like OFFENSIVE rating, amirite?), they’re 29th in two point percentage to the Kings 30th, they’re 29th in free throw attempts to the Kings 30th. You’re catching my drift right? Tonight’s game is going to be another ugly affair in which Bulls and Kings fans alike are looking for individual growth from their young guys. De’Aaron Fox has opportunity to succeed with a starting match-up against Jerian Grant, Buddy and Bogi should have solid games against Justin Holiday and a still recovering Zach LaVine and Bob Lopez should be a nice test for a seemingly motivated Willie Cauley-Stein. If the game gets ugly, and Paul Zipser smacks the Kings for twenty, well, the Sacramento Kings are now just a half game out of having the best chances for the highest pick in a very strong draft.
