Ailene Voisin started the morning off by saying that, surprisingly; DeMarcus Cousins was not a fan of Rondo. Cousins had said the complete opposite in an interview with Bill Simmons last year.

I’m not going to put words in anyone’s mouth, or pretend like I know the motives behind a tweet, but that came so out of nowhere that it felt to me like someone was telling Voisin that this Rondo thing may not happen. Telling the fan base that their All-Star center isn’t a fan of the player in question is a good way to justify the non-signing. Again, just idle speculation on my part.

Later, Sports Illustrated’s Chris Mannix reported the following –

Then, NBA.COM’s David Aldridge weighed in on the Kings pursuit of Rajon Rondo.

I’ve been speculating for most of this post, so why stop now?

This obviously sounds like discussions are starting to cool between the Kings and Rondo. It could also be typical last minute posturing. Rondo says he wants $10 million, Kings say they are looking at other options, and then the two sides eventually meet somewhere in the middle.

It’s hard to say which way this one is heading, but we’ll keep you posted.
