The Kings are continuing to hold workouts for veteran players in what looks like a search for another wing player. Recent reports have the Kings bringing in veterans Josh Howard, Mickael Pietrus and Jamario Moon over the past week.
Pietrus was a valuable roleplayer for years on the Orlando Magic and Golden State Warriors. Injuries forced him to sit out most of the 2012-13 season with the Toronto Raptors and he did not play in the NBA last year, taking a year off to rehabilitate.
Josh Howard was once considered a budding star in the NBA before knee injuries claimed his athleticism. He last played in the NBA in 2012-13 for the Minnesota Timberwolves. He spent last year playing for the Austin Toros in the D-League, where he averaged 14.7 points, 5.8 rebounds and 1.3 assists a game.
Jamario Moon has been out of the NBA for even longer than Pietrus and Howard, last seeing action in 2011-12 for Charlotte. Since then he's played for the Los Angeles D-Fenders in the D-League, Olympiacos in Greece and Guaros de Lara in Venezuela.
The Kings also recently signed Omri Casspi to help out on the wing and as a potential stretch four. The Kings roster currently stands at 13 players with guaranteed contracts, 12 if you don't think Eric Moreland will make the team. Alonzo Gee and Scotty Hopson, who were acquired in the Jason Terry trade, are fully unguaranteed and expected to be waived, although there is no guarantee date, meaning the Kings could theoretically bring them into training camp.
