My listening to Kayte days have come to an end.
I like Jones fwiw. Draper is such a cornball I struggle to listen to him.
The early Kayte hate I felt was tinged with misogyny, but I must admit I don’t feel she’s improved nuch as time has gone on.
I like Jones and I like Draper. And I think Fitz is nearly unbearable. And yet, I can’t listen to the Kings. That should tell you.
She’s pretty bad, sadly. I wish she weren’t is the nicest way I can say it.

Same. Normally the alternate jerseys are an automatic cringe for me, but these are actually pretty nice.
Better than old red uniforms. We’ll all like this new uni if the Kings pull out a win.

Nope, I liked them too.
Not a fan of grey as a base color for any uniform but they aren’t terrible. Really wish they’d use that Sacramento wordmark on their purple uniforms instead of “SAC” though
I normally HATE grey as a uniform base with the passion of a thousand burning suns. But this base is a much darker grey, and I’m not sure there’s a better color to combine it with than Kings purple.
Of course, I could also be massively over analyzing this…
Hopefully Keegan bounces back.
Off to a nice start!
We have to remember that NBA athletes are also human. Keegan’s grandmother had a stroke. He’s 22 years old and just starting to find his way in life, let alone the NBA.
Long-term he’ll be fine. There are just things he has to go through – as an NBA player, and as a man.

Is there something we don’t know about Holmes? Yeah it was a bad start to the season, but Bad Richaun Holmes is still about as good as average Chimezie Metu.
Does Brown think he’s so unplayable that it’s not worth giving him some minutes to figure it out rather than Metu?
Combination of just how bad the minutes have been + the team is winning games now with him out of the rotation. I get it, even though it sucks that Holmes has been such a non-factor for them
I’ve just seen too much good basketball from Holmes to believe he suddenly has no value anymore. There has to be more to this than what we know. Maybe he just wants out?
Defensively, he looked lost. Maybe it’s the new system or maybe he’s still hurt about giving up his spot to Sabonis. Offensively, he is only effective in the PnR and once Hali left, so did his points. Although, I’m not a fan of Metu, he at least gives a slight threat as a 3 point shooter. It’s a bummer cause Holmes could always be counted on to bring energy.
26% 3 point shooter is a huge liability.
He is getting playing time because he has started to play within the flow of the offense and not launch up 12 3 pointers just because.

I didn’t watch him much in LA and was worried he was a Buddy Hield character. He’s so much more skilled and intelligent with the ball than Buddy ever was.
Yeah I honestly had no idea he was this good of a playmaker.
It’s the ratio of “No, no, no YES!” plays to “no, no, NO” plays. Monk’s ratio of those is far higher than both Buddy’s and TD’s, although TD’s ratio has improved somewhat this season.
Lol he looks like pure chaos with the ball in his hands but the results continue to be good
Something I’m seeing over and over again….this Kings team playing poorly for stretches, but having enough talent to consistently haul themselves back into games. Like many others lately, I’m watching this game and wondering how the Kings are even in it, let alone had a couple of leads.
Another sign of an improving team. Now to keep cleaning things up and not playing down to the level of competition.

And, yet, Monk’s out of control aggression gets him to the line again. Malik Monk has been absolutely incredible tonight. Very fun overall.

Seems like we are getting a few make up calls. Which is to say we are getting calls.
Subconscious bias is a real thing. The Kings have been so bad for so long, it may have been a case of a sort of “muscle memory” for the officials.
Mike Brown calling it out multiple times helped, but oddly, I think Huerter going public with his “the refs do seem to call Kings games differently” – as a guy coming in from another organization, carried a sruprising amount of weight in getting the league and the refs to reflect and revisit how they call Kings games.
Or it’s just wishful thinking on my part…one or the other.
What is it with Kevin Huerter and FT’s this year? Ay ay ay.

Just when I thought Barnes was starting to figure things out…he’s back to being invisible tonight. Might need to see less of him in the 2nd half again like last time they played the Warriors if this continues for the first half of the 3rd quarter
Barnes game is down to drawing fouls and hitting the occasional three.
Keegan Murray has been excellent scoring the ball at least. It’s really a killer when both Murray and Barnes aren’t doing much. At least Keegan has 13 so far in the game.

That TO to Poole was something that would’ve derailed the Luke Walton Kings. Mike Brown, however, calls a timeout and talks it out immediately.
And part of the reason for that is that Brown had an extra TO to use there. Because the Dubs have had to take time several times in the 3rd.
That turnover he just committed not withstanding, Domas is having an absolute brilliant game. This is why the Kings got him, in case you’re wondering.

The toughness of this team. I swear. It’s just different.
The coach is supposed to set the tone, the mentality, the toughness, the expectations, the trust. It all starts and ends there.
And for the first time since Adelman, the Kings have a coach who personifies all of those things.
It’s truly a joy to watch this team. You can literally see their confidence in themselves, and each other, growing game by game.

This game had a lot of stuff. Draymond punching people in the face. Poole cheating and getting called for it for once. Refs trying to get the Warriors back in the game the second Curry touches the floor and Fox doing Fox things to secure the victory!
Not used to seein the Kings learn from past mistakes and overcome things. Was looking like they were about to fall victim to their same mistakes the last time against the Warriors, but they not only withstood it, but rose above and dominated in those final few minutes to pull away. Defense locked in and denied Curry from getting his shot off, and Fox/Domas did their thing
Fox post game, “These guys carried me the whole game I just finished it off….Yes Sir, let’s build on his”.

G-man is just ecstatic in his wrap of the game, his voice shaking with excitement talking with Fox and describing the team defense in the second half holding the Warriors to 53 points.
During the game it’s as close as I have ever heard Geroud get angry at the officials for the offensive fouls called on Fox and later on Monk. He even apologized for “being so vociferous”. Classic G-man calling this game.
Sabonis with a 20-20 game and Davion on the opposite end of the spectrum literally putting the clamps on anyone he guarded. Excellent game by both players.
Domas was a monster in this game. Twenty-six points, twenty-two boards and eight assists
This is fun and feels different than past Kings teams that start to show hope.
Kings roster better than Dubs . The only reason to believe Dubs are a top 8 team is Super Steph and that is likely enough !
Yep. Warriors really struggling to find quality bench production. Poole’s play has dropped off lately too which hurts them a ton. Kings have much better depth but Curry is likely a top 10-15 player all time? That masks a lot lol

Second game in a row Kings have decent late leads, get down by 4-6, then roar back for 7 point wins. Back to .500. Damn, I’m starting to believe.
Domas: “I try to the best of my ability. Fox had a huge block. It was big. They missed another shot and we got the rebound. They had three times to make a shot and we got three stops to win the game. The more we play together the more we can win consistently. Vivek was hyped, he comes to every game and asked me if he could have a hug and I said “Come on let’s go”.
“Defending home court is big. We have to do that.”
“There is so much work to still do. We get to enjoy this and the fans had forty seconds to really enjoy the win. That was good for our fans.”
