Pretty boring game so far. Dribble up, shoot a three, dribble up, shoot a three.
I’m flipping between the Dallas-Cleveland game and the Minnesota-Toronto game.
And I have the Kings game on but mostly in the background.
I’m flipping too. Have Miami-Boston too, plus a little Rangers-Red Wings.
Hard to watch this encounter . Boston / Miami for me until maybe Kings 4 th and a listen to G-Man .
What is Kayte doing back? Got spoiled again by two games with Jerry
I paid less than a Hamilton for a ticket and have worked my way down to the scotch boxes. Whole new game down here. Davion has clearly hit his stride in the last several months, he is quick, has a deadly step back move that he seems to be getting off smoothly and his lateral defense is even better than I saw earlier in the season. Mitchell’s jump shot is really getting better and better. Smooth mechanics, which is a real improvement. He just boxed out Porter and out-rebounded him on a ball that Porter should have taken high…Davion wouldn’t let him get the position he needed.
I simply am baffled why Harrison is even playing. Lyle’s play is really steady and is sneaky at getting good position on defense and is really good at getting off a shot down low when guarded by taller faster 3’s and 4’s.
Go Davion.
Thanks for the observation JP. I guess somebody’s gotta watch this game because I’m trying and just struggling with it!
That’s great to hear. What I’m hearing on TKH is that he appears to be a high level backup to Fox. I personally don’t see it that way. IMO he has skills that Fox will never develop. He may not have Fox’s offensive numbers but he brings so many other things to the game that Fox will never develop. Enjoy the scotch seats. Thanks for the live update.
I think the trick is playing them together. And Davion learning how to play off the ball. I’m not sure how they do that though.
That is the trick. Not a solitary issue only to the Kings.
Totally agree with you on that part. That’s why I was a tad frustrated Gentry wouldn’t play Fox and Mitchell together.
Davion played off the ball at Baylor half the time next to Jared Butler. His game is suited well to play both on and off the ball.
He is going to probably put up 2000 shots a day this off-season. Then he will practice D for three or four hours. I agree with you. He is a mesomorph.
i borrowed the fellas phone next to me and pulled up the Kings merch page and pulled up Mitchell’s jersey and gave it back to the guy. “Dude” was his response.
If I could turn your comment purple JP I would. I have said similar things on so many posts. If I was a betting I would bet that Davion’s offensive game will be significantly better next season and so will his defense
It’s one thing to do this while you’re at Baylor. It’s another in the NBA. But that is a good thing in his favor, no question.
If you have a chance listen to the latest TKH podcast with Jerry who had high, high praise for Davion and said he can work his way to a starter position in the NBA. It’s a really interesting podcast. He has clearly improved since around the mid point of January with two spells of big minutes clearly helping him polish his shot. He is very shifty quick to the basket in a different way than Fox. Fox is raw unbridled speed. Davion has them on their heels here with shifty quick burst shifts and driving to the basket.
I think they can compliment each other. Davion seems to get better open J’s than Fox whose mid game has really flourished this season.
Guy next to me just said “Who is this Mitchell dude? I said, “He is the Third of The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.” He just smiled, and said “Dude.” Probably thirty years difference between us, talking NBA.
Yeah have meant to listen to the podcast. Just been too busy. Maybe tonight. Thanks for the update
I can’t wait for some playoff bball
I’ve seen a few blatant carrys in this game. It seems that rule isn’t enforced too much anymore.
I’m wondering if Houston is going to turn things around quicker than the Kings.
If I had to put money on it, I’d bet on Houston.
If I was a betting man I’d borrow as much money from you as I could and put it all on Houston.
Houston will probably turn things around, decline and rebuild, then turn things around again before the Kings figure it out.
The end of the season has proven that Davion Mitchell is possibly a starter in this league. I’d have to see a lot more to say that with confidence, but it’s certainly not impossible for me to see how Davion would end up playing next to De’Aaron Fox.
Looks like we’re gonna swap spots with Portland tonight. From the 5 spot to the 7 in 4 games.
This was inevitable. PDX is running a G League team out there basically.
Wow the end of this Spurs-Grizzlies game is crazy. Spurs might end up pulling it out after being down big all game.
Holy shit! Keldon Johnson missed a wide open layup that would have put the Spurs up 1 with 2 seconds to go.
Wow. What a tough way to lose if you’re SA.
