With 43.3% of the vote, Anthony Edwards is the consensus top pick of the Kings Herald community. This matches most draft consensus, although it is less overwhelming than many years.
When a choice comes up, pick who you’d want the Kings to pick given all the players remaining. Note: THIS IS NOT A MOCK DRAFT. This is a draft board, a ranked list of prospects you’d like to see the Kings pick. In other words, if we were the Kings front office, when our pick came up, we’d take the top name left on our board. So pick your choice, not who you think Monte McNair or anyone else would choose in a slot.
Explain your choice in the comments, and lobby for who should be added to the next pick’s choices.
This poll ends at 5 AM tomorrow. The next one will begin shortly thereafter. We will go roughly 15 picks deep.
Killian Hayes and Tyrese Haliburton are my next two and it really is a toss up for me. That being said I’m going Haliburton because I think he has other intangibles that make him the better overall player. Hayes is may end up being the better player or star down the road, but is also the greater risk between the two.
Haliburton just has the size, passing, shooting, and defense that are more proven. I think he could be the perfect backcourt mate to Fox.
Also, just to prove how crazy this draft board and actual NBA draft is gonna be. The first player chosen only got 43% of the votes.
It’s a shame to have lost the STR archive. I’d love to see the percentages on the 2018 draft.
I’d put money on Luka getting a vast majority of the votes. I honestly can’t recall anyone advocating or Ayton over him.
There were definitely a couple BIG Ayton fans among the regulars.
I wish I could remember my votes. I know my overall “Big Board” went Luka, JJJ, Young. Then I think it was Ayton. Bagley generally bounced around in the 6-8 range for me.
I loved and still do love ayton. I would have picked ayton at 2 if he fell. I advocated for trading down and taking bamba and porter jr.
And you voted for Wiseman here. I’m thinking you may have a type.
I do. I’m a big fan of tall guys that project to be good on d and can do a lot of switching.
They are good guys to have around.
My second of what I expect to be 4 or 5 rounds of voting for Hayes.
Going with Wiseman again, for the same reasons I explained on Friday. They were genius observations, you can check for yourself. Anything appearing non-genius in my commentary was edited by moderators to make me look bad.
Your patience is appreciated during this difficult time.
I guess I’ll keep voting Wiseman until he’s gone, then okoro until he’s gone.
Haliburton is my choice even if he’s not on the list. He’s actually the only player I’m comfortable with trading up the draft. Him and probably Hayes but I won’t necessary love it but I could live with it.
I voted Wiseman
I voted Okongwu.
Username checks out.
Wiseman. I give the current roster & fit zero consideration.
I’m just not sure how his game hits today’s NBA. He seems more like a throwback center. I kind of see him as a Dwight Howard lite or a younger DeAndre Jordan. I’m not sure it is that kind of league anymore.
AD is not a relic. Nor is Jokic. Nor would be Towns with a better cast. Embiid. Vucevic, Brook Lopez, Myles Turner. All of these guys have some semblance of a perimeter game that they did not possess when they first came to the league.
As Jerry Reynolds says, it takes longer to develop bigs and point guards. I don’t think that Wiseman has scratched the surface of his eventual talent.
But all the guys you mentioned there can hit from deep. Does Wiseman have a perimeter game or the ability to pass the ball? Everything I read and see paints an at the basket big man. Maybe he is more Rudy Gobert?
How many of those guys could hit from deep at 19? Go back and look. Almost every one of these guys developed their range after turning pro.
Not many! That said, I wouldn’t say KAT, Jokic, Vucevic or Lopez are comps. Probably the best ceiling comp in that group is Embiid. And that’s one heck of a ceiling. Of course a more likely comp is probably something Whiteside or Drummond-y. Which also isn’t the worst thing the world as long as you aren’t the team on the hook for their “Max-contract” years.
I barely know anyone on this draft. But I chose Wiseman because he’s the only name I recognize. I didn’t pick Avdija since I thought #2 was too high a pick for him. At least Wiseman has potential.
What makes you think Wiseman has more potential than Avdija?
Wiseman!
WISEman!!
WISE-MAN!!
Went with Wiseman. Not 100% he’ll be the 1st or 2nd best player in this draft, but I have his percentage higher than the rest that he’ll be a solid starter at least.
Am I the only one who gets the “File unavailable Sorry, there’s a problem with this file. Please reload.” message when I try to vote? I feel like this is an effort to suppress the vote of all the Hayes heads on here.
Selected Hayes for the same reasons I him selected #1 overall.
#1 – Hayes
#2 – Edwards
#3 – Vassell
#4 – Okoro
#5 – Okongwu
#6 – Advija
#7 – Wiseman
#8 – Haliburton
#9 – Toppin
#10 – Maxey
Honorable Mention – Poku
Voted Wiseman. If you’re going to miss, miss big.
Hayes again for me.
