Following Wednesday’s loss to the Atlanta Hawks, Kings head coach Mike Brown addressed the media, as did Davion Mitchell and Kevin Huerter. You can watch their post game media sessions here:

Mike Brown

“Offense is fun to watch and all that, and you will probably win some regular season games, but we have to be able to sit down and guard if we expect to be a really good team and make some noise come playoff time. If we can’t sit down and guard the ball it can be tough for us.” – Mike Brown said after the 120-117 loss to the Atlanta Hawks. The Kings failed to stop the Hawks on the fast break or in the half court.

Davion Mitchell

Davion Mitchell discusses what the Atlanta Hawks and Trae Young did against the Sacramento Kings. He said it was a good learning experience: “Even though we lost tonight, I think we’re learning how to win, doing winning plays and things like that you saw in Utah and even the Denver game. Just making those winning plays. I think it slipped tonight like I said we’ve got to protect the paint more.” Mitchell finished with 5 points in 24 minutes.

Kevin Huerter

“We fouled too much late. … A lot of mental mistakes at the end of the game there.” “We just didn’t lock in good enough.” “I’m sure if the game was another 2-3 minutes we could have hit them with another run, it was just they made the final punch.”

I think it’s good that coach Brown called out Keegan for that foul on Trae Young. Not saying that it was the reason for losing, or anything like that. It’s just that we all know Keegan is better than that.

Yes. Keegan still looks like he’s thinking too much. That was a dumb play but he seems to be figuring it out over time.

His defense keeps improving and he seems to mix it up more in the middle. On offense he is also improving but doesn’t get the touches he needs. I explained in an earlier comment Fox needed to kick it out more in the fourth against the Hawks. Up by 4 and one more 3 makes it 7. IMO that’s the game.

mistakes- on defense- giving up two shots at the rim and on Offense- missed free throws and TO by Fox.
