Loving what I’m seeing so far. Great activity on defense, active hands forcing turnovers. Looking up in transition and getting everyone touches. Sabonis, Barnes, Murray, and Huerter all aggressive in looking for their shots early. Once the shots start falling and the nerves wear off, I think we might win this one soundly.

Right? He’s playing Davion exclusively against Poole.
Not a terrible idea, considering TD was doing well on offense. Davion can all but neutralize Poole, who’s capable of getting hot and being the Warrior’s third offensive superstar when he’s “on.” Shutting down Poole forces more of the load onto Curry and Klay, which could give the Kings an edge in the 4th quarter when legs get tired.
Think he’s saving Davion for the second half. TD bought Brown minutes for Davion.
Fox struggled that half an the Kings are up 2. That’s encouraging. I expect him to kick it into gear in the 2nd half

TD providing valuable offense but they really will need to use Fox and Davion on Curry in the 2nd half to make him work more for his looks. Can’t let him go off like this. Can’t expect Klay to keep shooting this poorly in the 2nd half
Will be interesting to see if Brown sics Davion on Curry more in the 2nd and Fox takes more of a role on offense to compensate. We’re going to need some Off Night defense to pull this one out.

I think this is what happens, and we’ll see Fox on him at times still too. Could be why Brown risked using TD on Curry in that 1st half. Keep both Fox and Mitchell as fresh as possible and then have them hound Curry the whole 2nd half with him likely playing 40+ minutes for GS. Hope he gets a bit gassed and starts missing more of his shots in the 3rd/4th quarters
Klay has looked mediocre too. He can also heat up.

My thoughts exactly. And to add insult to injury, Rashaun Holmes saw 0.00 minutes of playing time in the series, even in garbage time. In this series, I think Holmes could have neutralized Looney on the glass. Of course, all that was dependent on not letting Curry get downhill from high picks that Davis got caught on every single time.

I have had a wonderful year of basketball. A great Year by the Kings, its organization, all its employees, the coaches, the trainers. It’s not the way we wanted it to end.

It’s less the choking that is frustrating, which you can’t really control, and more the inexplicable decision not to put Mitchell on Curry at all. Curry does not score 50 if Mitchell is in the game, and the tradeoff with TD’s offense was not worth it.
Kings lost because they shot poorly, had no easy baskets, and couldn’t get a rebound. Totally flat in the second half. Never gave the crowd a chance to get them going. Curry still too good. I’d have rather seen Kessler in him for his length.
The problem isn’t length, it’s letting Curry get in front and then downhill. W’s ran more than 10 high picks near the half court line, and TD get caught on every single one of them. So much for locking Steph down. Poor strategy, poor recognition by coaches, and no adjustment–effectively doubling down and allowing separation by middle of 3rd quarter.

Looney has been a beast for years.
If there is anyone who can’t be measured by his stats, it’s Looney.
Because he can’t score relying upon Curry/Klay/Poole/Wiggins gravity to get what he can. Also, the Warriors play him limited minutes in the regular season in order to protect his health for the playoffs.
Looney is an extremely good defender/rebounder/pretty solid passer. However, the league doesn’t value those things so he’s overlooked.
Not by me. I wanted the Kings to make an offer to him last time he was a free agent. Of course, I doubt he would have accepted, but the Kings should have at least made the effort.
Oh, and left out that he’s sets a lot of screens for Steph and Klay.

As Kings fans who only want what is best for the team we follow there were a lot of very unique positive events this year.
One of those was captivating the national media and basketball fans everywhere with the Light The Beam chant and all it entails.
Mark Jackson made one of the most classless comments I have ever heard an announcer make in a long time. As the clock was winding down he said “Warm up the Beam”.
We are so, so, so lucky to have dodged the bullet that is Mark Jackson as a coach of this team. By comparison, Mike Brown, is an incredible example of how to carry yourself as a team and a coach.
Shame on Mark Jackson.
I don’t know man, if you were paying attention minutes earlier, Jackson actually suggested that the beam be lit, even this was a loss, as a homage to this phenomenal Kings season.

It’s a bummer to see them go out with a whimper like that but I won’t let that get in the way of what was one of the most fun seasons I’ve ever experienced. I don’ think I would have felt this same way if they advanced only to lose to the fuckin Lakers in the next round. I don’t like the Warriors(mainly their arrogant fan base), but I don’t have some deep seeded hatred of them like I do the Lakers, so a series loss to the Dubs doesn’t sting as much

Hey guys, Warriors fan from before here. I tried to avoid commenting here during the series because I know people can get heated with the opposing team fans. Now that its over though, I just wanted to say the series was fantastic and i have a newfound appreciation of Fox!
